With all the natural disasters you see on the news, you know how important food storage could be to you and your family. Many of these natural disasters can strike with no warning at all, like earthquakes. Or, like storms, most of the time we know they're coming but we cannot predict exactly how severe they'll be, or whether they'll just blow over or stay for a while. But what we don't know is how it will affect us personally. Things like layoffs or companies just going bankrupt can affect you; not to mention the constant possibility of injury or illness.
Considering all the possible things that could go wrong, wouldn't it be nice to know that you have a safeguard that works against all of these? Having food storage means security: because even if all the stores are closed, if you're too sick to get to one, or you can't afford food, you and your family will still be able to eat. Don't wait for one of these emergencies to surprise you--get started on your food storage now with Saratoga Farms™ kidney beans and get some peace of mind.

Preparation Instructions: Preparation: Soak dried kidney beans for at least eight hours before draining and rinsing the beans (discard the soaking water).
Cooking: Place the soaked kidney beans in a pan and cover with a fresh change of cold water, then bring to the boil. The beans must boil for ten minutes to destroy the toxin. Simmer until cooked (approximately 45 to 60 minutes), when they should have an even, creamy texture throughout.
Chef’s notes: Do not add salt when cooking kidney beans, as it toughens their skins.
