Quick and Easy Food Storage

Food storage comes in all different shapes and sizes. You have your staple foods like grains and beans, and your freeze dried foods like fruits and vegetables or even meats and cheeses. And then you have a wide range of freeze dried meals.

There are so many different options and it is hard to know what to buy, how much to buy, or even how to buy it. But luckily, the Ready Store has a few simple ways for you to get all the food you need, including food supply kits that provide you with a variety of options.

Pick and Choose

If you want to go through and pick your own individual cans of food to store, you can use the ReadyCalculator to determine how many cans of food you need based on the number of people in your family and how large of a supply you want.

This tool will calculate the amount of staple items you need, the freeze dried items you need, or a mix of both types of food. Once you know the number, you can go through the types of food storage you need and pick out your own fruits, veggies, and meals specific to your own needs.

      Hi Amy,

I'm on the marketing team here at the Ready Store. Serving sizes will depend on the type of food in the packet, but generally, a serving size for entree meals is 1 cup dry and contain 4 servings. Fruits and vegetables are usually 1/2 cup dry and contain 6 servings . We sell the packets individually, you can look at the product page and see each type of food and it's serving size by following this link: http://www.thereadystore.com/food-storage/product-series/easyprep

I hope this helped answer your question!

      Thanks,
      Lexi

I am new to this, and when I look at your EasyPrep buckets, it appears that meal pouches typically have 8+ servings per meal. What is the thinking for how remaining servings are to be stored when using this in emergency circumstances if only one or 2 family members (per meal) are using this meal bucket? Do you have 1- 2 serving meal pouch version?

Hello Bob! That is a great question. The EasyPrep meal pouches come with a resealable zip top which makes it easy to reuse in the future. The mylar pouch that the food is stored in will stay fresh for 6 - 12 months. This makes it perfect for smaller families!
