We've found an easier way to store water! Our 5 Gallon Stackable Water Containers nest and stack for easy storage, the 5 gallon size makes it easy to move.
5-10 Day Supply | Food-Grade Plastic - BPA Free | Stackable

Keep Your Family Safe in an Emergency
These containers hold a 5-10 day water supply for one person shielding you from dehydration during natural disasters or even when public water supplies have become contaminated. Feel Secure in Your Preparations
Container is made from 100% non-toxic food-grade HDPE, and is completely BPA free. Keep Water Free From Bacteria
The opaque material on these containers prevent bacterial growth so your water stays cleaner. Make Emergency Preparedness Convenient
Stackable water containers enable you to store an adequate water supply while still saving floor space for other emergency supplies!
Storing emergency water just got a little bit easier! Water is the most important element of survival yet if you are attempting to store a water supply for your family in gallon- sized jugs you may be tempted to skimp on the amount you store in order to have more space. Plus, the plastic on water jugs is thin, flimsy, and easily pierced which makes them impractical to store for a natural disaster situation. These 5-gallon water containers are made from a sturdy 100% food-grade plastic (BPA free too) meaning they will hold up during an emergency. The opaque material prevents bacterial growth so you won’t need to scrub the container every month in order to retain a clean water supply and because they are stackable, these water containers don’t take up a lot of floor space, giving you room for other emergency supplies.

NOTE: To avoid leaking tighten cap well, use channel locks or a bung wrench if hand tightening doesn't do the job. We get a few people from time to time that are not able to tighten it enough by hand in this case a little help may be needed.

Natural disasters and contaminated public water supplies can happen quickly--often without any warning. When this happens, grocery store bottled water sells out almost immediately. Your body loses on average 2.5 liters of water everyday, but can handle only a loss of about 10-22% of its water weight before it becomes fatal. Don’t leave your family’s health to chance—5-gallon stackable water containers are easy to use and inexpensive so there is no excuse not to have clean water at the ready in your family’s emergency preparedness. Don’t forget to add water preserver to extend the life of your water!

The Ready Store understands your desire to prepare your family for emergency. That’s why we only carry the best products to make certain our customers are both secure and
satisfied. In addition to this, emergency officials recognize the need for food and water storage.

"If an earthquake, hurricane, winter storm, or other disaster strikes your community, you might not have access to food, water, and electricity for days or even weeks. By taking some time now to store emergency food and water supplies, you can provide for your entire family."

"Love them! Easy to move to where water will be used. Easy to store. I figure on using one container per day for our family of three just for drinking and cooking. Have not tipped them on their side to use yet.
I would suggest getting a couple extra lids and spouts so you have them set up before you need them, one for use in the kitchen and one for upstairs.
I ordered four which came in one box. I will order eight more as I am able. It feels nice to finally be somewhat prepared for any disaster."

"The quality of this product and its accessories are outstanding without a doubt. However, the price is a bit high but worthwhile for the intended purpose. My only complaint is the delivery time. After some searching on the website I discovered that shipments are generally completed two weeks after ordering. This was recently changed to three weeks. My delivery of four containers took almost five weeks to receive. To make matters worse, some other items as part of the order are on back order. The back order was also advised to me on the invoice received with the shipment. Disappointed with service and delivery time. Please be up front with customers and communicate better, not leaving people in the dark on their orders. We should not have to follow up numerous time on order status.

From The Ready Store:

Stephen, we do have the estimated ship dates when you put an item in the shopping cart. When they are long times they are bolded and in red. Right now we are down to under a week and the ship time message is bolded and in green font. On the other hand, competitors usually only say if the item is going to ship in normal production or it is on backorder, whereas we actually put specific ship times for EACH product so in my opinion we actually have the most accurate and detailed information out there.

Thanks,

The Ready Store"

"Someone put a lot of thought in designing these containers and whoever it was should get a weeks paid vacation. My water storage plan included containers that would be portable, easy to manuever, stackable to save space, durable and of good quality. This container meets every expectation I have. The only preparatory task you have to do is drill a small vent hole and rinse the container out. Then fill it with water. I purchased a couple spare lids, a couple spigots and the water preserver which will provide for a longer shelf life of the water. I highly recommend this water container - 5 stars."

Pros: Long Shelf-Life, Easily Portable, High Quality, Low Price, Very Durable, Light Weight, High Volume/Capacity

"I got 11 of these containers recently and have filled them up and stored them in my basement (with Water Preserver). It's good to know that I've got potable water if the need should arise. These containers are well made, very sturdy, and darker blue than the picture shown (probably a good thing - more opaque). They are the perfect size - large enough that you don't have to have a ridiculous amount of them - but small enough that they are easily portable. I was able to move two at a time down to my basement. The lids fit very tightly.

My one complaint would be that 5 of the 11 lids I got had at least some sections of the tamper-proof ring broken off - none completely, but a few were just barely still attached. I'm not going to bother buying replacement lids since I'm not really that concerned that it'll be tampered with, but a little surprising. I do wish I had purchased a spigot though - now I have to pay S&H for just that one item.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy more if I feel like I needed them. Good product."

"I love the portability and stackability of these water jugs... I was just hoping that there would be a response to the question left by Jambie below. If the water is stored in these jugs for a long time, will the water end up tasting and smelling like plastic? Thanks for your response, and I look forward to purchasing a bunch of these containers.

From The Ready Store:

Dean, any plastic container if stored on concrete will eventually take on a different flavor. You can avoid this by putting a layer in between like plywood, carpet, or other similar materials.

Thanks,

"I'm considering replacing the water jugs at the cabin because they impart a plastic taste to the water. Do these water jugs impart any plastic taste after long periods of storage? "

"These water container are as advertised BUT be aware that just buying the container don't come with the white lid as shown. Now I have to repurchase the lids for the 4 containers that I ordered and the shipping cost more than the 4 lids.

From The Ready Store:

Please contact our customer service department and they will ship out free lids. Each container does come with a lid, it looks like there was a shipping mistake. I would contact you but you didn't leave your email address or name so I can not look you up in our system.

Thanks and sorry for the mishap.

"I had been looking for some nice 5-gallon containers to store water in for ease of use (Compared to a 55-gallon drum!) and bought 8 of these. This product is great heavy duty, has a strong seal, and stacks well. Although thereadystore forgot to ship the caps with my order I called customer service and they were very polite, listened well, and apologized. They shipped out the 8 caps and I received them six days later. I will shop here again... actually I already have.

On a side note to buyers: I recommend buying extra caps. Although these are very well built, it is always good to have extras if one cracks from long term wear and tear. As with all parts that are mechanical or experience wear and tear, buy spares!"

"I use this containers to haul salt water for my aquarium, during normal times and hod fresh water when Hurricanes come. These are the most durable water container I have found (2nd only to the military water cans). The fact that I can safely stack them (full and empty) makes them excellent. I beat up these container more then the average person and they are proving there worth."

"I just completed filling eighteen of these units using the water preserver also sold here. They are excellent in their design and construction and the stacking feature is what sold me on these. I used and recommend a rubber strap wrench (available at auto parts stores) to get the caps nice and tight, and didn't have any issues with leaks. I will definitely buy some more in the nearfuture"

"I filled 10 of these last week for my family of four and can't begin to describe the piece of mind knowing that I have enough water for 2 weeks. I like that these are extremely portable in case we have to evacuate -- not sure how I'd ever manage moving a 55 gallon tank, especially if I happened to be alone at home with my 2 toddlers. The portable size also makes them very easy to store in random places throughout the house. I used one bottle of water preserver for all the bottles, so am good for the next 5 years!"

"The Ready Store proviides great prices and quality products..BUT..bought two of these recently. BOTH leak when upside down and shaken some. Would prefer spending more $$ for Coleman..etc.. and avoid possible issues.

*from The Ready Store: Please call our customer service line at 1-800-773-5331 (I can't contact you since you logged this review as a guest which provides me with no contact info for you)

It sounds like your containers did not come with the gaskets. When in place and tightened down these containers do not leak, even when held upside down and shaken. Nonetheless thanks for the feedback, we look forward to helping you with this issue. "

"I looked around for the best way to store water in my space-challenged home. I love the stacking feature of these jugs! I use the water preserver sold on this site, and stack these containers easily in the corners of my closets. You can't do that with a jug with a spout on top! I also bought a couple spigots sold on this site and taped them to the side so that they will be handy when I need to use the water. Plus, I love that they are light enough for me to carry when full. Highly recommend this product!"

"So I run a craft booth at my church fair every summer & last year my tent almost was blown away! Talking over with one of my girl friends she told me to use my water containers I had in my food storage. Never really intended to use them like that but I gave it a go & my tent stayed firm & the kids loved the crafts."
