The filter also comes with an embedded Replacement Safety Indicator to let you know when you need to change it.

After cleanings, this screen-like layer becomes visible so you know when its time to replace your filter cartridge. A layer of granular activated carbon surrounding the filter improves the taste of unsavory water.
