I purchased this kit for my family of four, two adults, a 15 year old, and a 10 year old. We purchased another large backpack for my oldest child and are using an old backpack for our youngest. We divided up the water and supplies equally with the big people carrying all the food. This has worked out wonderfully and allowed us room in each of our bags for clothes, personal items and pet supplies. We're thrilled to finally feel prepared for a grab and go emergency! Thank you for a great product!

This is a great kit for a family of four because the two adults can carry the big packs. I would also get to of the small backpacks on this site to split up this kit so everyone can carry their own food and water rations, leaving even more space for personal items.

I was surprised at how much stuff comes with it. Some I agree maybe a waste of space like the tent. But most of it is great. I would add a real knife or axe with it. The backpacks are awesome and have tons of little pockets to put stuff in. Worth the money.

I bought this emergency kit for my family because I needed a more comprehensive solution. I also like the MREs and having a few more tools. Some of the other emergency kits I looked at just didn't seem like they have enough stuff. There isn't any extra room in this kit to add other items and I had to put it together myself, but other than that I really like the items that came in it. I guess it was OK for me to put the items in the backpack because then I know what is in it. I would recommend this kit.

This is a convenient one stop shop. The back packs are decent and the ones I got were black not the bright blue in the picture which I see as a plus. I was able to pack all the food in the main compartment and all the rest of the supplies in the two side compartments. The 12-Function Stainless Steel Swiss Style Knife and Multi-Function Leatherman-Style Tool are not of the greatest quality but will do in a pinch. I would definitely upgrade to a Leatherman or Gerber. Also I was not a fan of the nylon rope and went out and got some 550 paracord. Two other things I got that I wish were a part of this kit were a water bottle with a filter and a firesteel. All in all a good buy and will serve you well in an emergency situation.

I like this kit as it includes far more than any other comparable kit I found on the Internet. The shipping was extremely expensive to Canada (i.e. 1/2 the price of the kit), but since nothing like it is available here and I didn't have the time to prepare one myself, so be it.
The kit includes items not mentioned online - two rolls of toilet paper, and four metal bowls with handles (could double as cups). Items I added include flints, waterproof match containers, sunscreen, insect repellant, and full-tang survival knives. We bought to additional backpacks for all our clothing and so have one pack for each of us.
