Best of Breed!
138 of 231 people found this review helpfulI bought this radio to keep in my emergency kit at home. During hurricane Irene power was out for a while and I used this radio overnight to listen to music, news or weather updates (I can't run my generator overnight). Reception was really clear and the unit is good quality. During the day the solar panel was efficient enough where I didn't need to use the crank it to keep it going. It lasts a long time on a single charge. I did used the crank feature to charge our cell phones. A bit of work but better it charged my phone from Low to about half in about 30 minutes. I didn't use the LED lights while running the radio but I could see where it would be a handy night light while camping or during a power outage. I was so impressed with its function that I just bought a second one to give to my daughter for her home emergency kit.

emergency radio
16 of 27 people found this review helpfulGets local stations real well. Still haven't found the weather stations. ???? Gotta be one out there somewhere.
From The Ready Store:
Cheryl,
You have to change the band to weather on the middle dial then from there you change between the different bans with the selector to the left of that. Let us know if that doesn't work.
Thanks,

A Communication Dream!
15 of 22 people found this review helpfulI just got my Voyager in and put it through the paces. It is above average in every area. The radio is compact and light, and will keep you update with the outside world in case of an emergency. The four powering options are outstanding (Hank Crank, AA Batt,Solar and AC Adapter). The weather and local radio stations came in clear without the antenna even raised. LED lights are bright and practical. ATTENTION: Cell phone adapters that came with the radio does not included a "Universal Charging Tip". It came with older model phone charging adapters, so make sure you buy a extra "USB" phone charger for your 72 hour Kit. This radio will bring years of functionality!

Really is Ultimate
9 of 16 people found this review helpfulThis radio should be like the family or group radio! With 5 different ways to power it, you'll never have to worry because if one way won't work, you have plenty of other options!

Thanks for the Video!
7 of 13 people found this review helpfulI had been thinking about this radio for a while now. There is a store that has it cheaper but not when you add the shipping and consider "Ready Rewards". I watched the video on ReadyStore and it really helped me decide. I got it in yesterday and it's great. The 2 NOAA stations I can get come in loud and clear. The other's AM/FM and Shortwave not so much but that has more to do with where I live than the radio. This radio is well built an easy to crank. I do wish the AC adapter came with it but I ordered one from the Kaito website for only $14.95 delivered. Does anyone know if I should leave the rechargeable battery plugged in when the radio is being stored? I tried to unplug it but it didn't want to come out easily and I was afraid I would break the wires. Thanks again ReadyStore!

Easy to use
265 of 516 people found this review helpfulI am not an electronic person, so this radio was perfect for me. My power went out and I wanted to check the radio to see if I could get info on when it would be turned back on. I cranked the handle thing and I immediately had power (I forget to keep batteries with my radio! Bummer!) and the reception was really clear.

saved our memorial weekend
247 of 487 people found this review helpfulSo I will always be the first to admit I am very forgetful, and when I was packing my bags I grabbed my outlet cell phone charger and left my car charger in my car. My husband bought this Radio for when we go camping so we can have music to listen to, but he told me it can charge my I phone with the USB connection in back. Thanks to this radio I had a full battery and could help give directions to my friends when they where driving to our site.

This should be in every bugout bag!
192 of 370 people found this review helpfulI have several different survival radios, but this is by far my favorite. In addition to being a simple, efficient, and versatile radio, it maintains other devices like cell phones too!

Good unit to have around.
227 of 438 people found this review helpfulHere in north Texas we have a lot of weather advisory days so this radio has been on in one mode or another quite a few days in the months since we got it. It went through a tornado season resting in a place where the solar cells are exposed to ambirnt light during the day and household lighting some of the evening hours and I have never had to bo to battery or dynamo power. I'm sure if we were playing the audio a lot it would need help bur the way we use it solar power has kept it charged so far.
The only issue I have with the radio is that none of the cell phone charge adaptors fit either of our phones. We have Casios which use charging connectors different from each other.12/17/10

Great Radio
226 of 421 people found this review helpfulThis is an outstanding radio with lots of options. However, I've seen it cheaper on other websites than on here. Even in a store in the mall it was $10 cheaper than here, seems a bit pricey on thereadystore, wonder if they price match?
From The Ready Store: Brad, thanks for taking the time to leave a review on the dynamo radio, as for your question we do price match, look at the top of each page on the site for the Low Price Guarantee graphic and click on it for our price matching policy.12/17/10

Good thing to have.
Not the first thing I would spend your prep dollars on, but once you have some of the first order items taken care (food, water, ammo...) then it's time to branch out.

Broke third time I used it!
This radio seems nice at first. It works well on standard double A batteries, however the dynamo crank broke the third time I cranked it, and the solar charger has never worked even when in full sunlight. I would send it back, but I don't have the receipt as it was a gift and shipping from Alaska where I am would be more then the stupid thing is worth. Would not recommend it at all... poorly made.
