I have been looking for the best water tank to protect my family in an emergency. After researching for weeks I can confidently state that this tank is without questiion the best emergency water tank available. You can find it cheaper elsewhere, but end up paying $300 for shipping. So the cost is the same or cheaper from the Ready Store and it is a reputable company. The tank arrived even earlier than promised. I filled it to test it and left it overnight. No leaks at all. It is very well constructed. The next day I drained it (also very easy) and refilled it using a drinking water safe hose, added 5 vials of water preserver and it is all set for 5 years! Thank you Ready Store for carrying such a great product. Now I know I have my family's emergency water needs covered. I highly recommend this tank.

Tank arrived in great condition. Vendor contacted me before delivery and scheduled delivery time. Only issue I had with the tank was a slight leak at the bottom valve. Little plumbers tape and tighten one turn and leak was gone. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Ordered this product about 2 weeks ago. It fits perfectly in the garage. I got several versions of smaller containers as well for transport purposes but this is the best overall value for large amounts. The 500 gallon tank is so large it is hard to find a place for it. My only wish would be I had more money to buy 3 more, especially cause they are on sale right now big time.

The tank was easily cleaned and moved by myself and son. One person setup would probably be tough. The tank was easy to put into the limited space I had for it. Don't forget, if putting it on concrete, to use a wood plank under it to prevent leaching. The fillup was easy and the two spigots did not leak. My only suggestion for this product would be to add some type of clear sight gauge so the amount of remaining water could be determined. Other than that, definitely one of the best products I have seen.

I was glad to see The Ready Store started selling these again, I didn't get one before and made sure to nab one asap when they were back on. It arrived yesterday and I am very pleased with the construction. Everything came installed as seen in the picture and ready for me to add water and preserver.

I like how the two valves can attach to hoses for filling. They seem very heavy duty too. The thing is pretty heavy so I needed my husband to help put it into place THEN add water. I have yet to have him get straps to secure it to the garage wall but we will probably do that in the next week or two.

I also bought 4 waterbricks and a couple 5 gallon water containers to use as portable water movers for the water in the tank.

I just got mine this past week. Very happy with the quality. The valves are both high quality brass, a competitor I came across only puts a brass valve on the bottom and a plastic one up top. The strap groves are a nice touch too.

This just doesn't seem practical unless you have a large group or large family. Once you fill it, you most likely won't be moving it again. So I hope you would also have smaller, movable containers.

    From The Ready Store:

Daniele, a very popular product that people buy when ordering this tank is the WaterBrick containers which are perfect for moving water. The valve up high on the tank makes filling buckets and water containers easy. As for being practical for small families it doesn't take long for a couple with no kids to use this tank up if they are using it for drinking and hygiene each day.

    Thanks,

    The Ready Store

  • Looks like a great product, concerned about the weight

This appears to be a sturdy, well thought-out water storage product. The ability to have such a high capacity but fit through a doorway and be placed in a corner are great features. I am concerned about the weight, as I am worried that one ton in such a concentrated area on a cement garage or basement floor may cause the foundation to crack or break.

    From the Ready Store:

Although the weight is in a concentrated area, your basement or garage floor should be able to sustain the weight. A garage does not have any problem usually sustaining the weight of one or two cars. We have also never heard from previous customers about such problems occurring, but should that happen please reach out to our customer service team and take advantage of our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

I always do a dry run with my safety equipment, and when I used this tank for drinking water it made us sick. It after about 3 weeks, it leached so many chemicals into the water that it gave us heart palpitations and made our hands and body itchy. The taste of plastic was so overwhelming that it clogged brand new charcoal filters in just 2 weeks and the taste was overwhelming when I went right to the tap on the tank. I might have received a defective one, but all I can say is if you buy this, you'd better test it to make sure it isn't leaching chemicals into your emergency drinking water supply. You might be in big trouble if you need it in an emergency and find out your water is toxic.

    From The Ready Store:

Russ, did you clean out the tank before filling it with water? We have videos on the product pages detailing how to do it. We have sold and shipped A LOT of these tanks around the US (as well as have several employees that own and use them in their homes) and this is the first time we have heard of these problems. We will be contacting you via email to look into this further and make sure you are taken care of.

    Thanks,

    The Ready Store

[UPDATE from the Ready Store:] We have received Russ' unit and have had the manufacturer conduct tests on it and there is nothing out of the ordinary with the tank. We stand by the product and have had hundreds upon hundreds of happy customers who have used this water tank with no issues.

Benefits & Description

250 Gallons | Highest Quality | BPA Free Food Grade Plastic

Keep Your Family Safe in an Emergency
This tower hold 250 gallons water supply shielding you from dehydration during natural disasters as well as providing hygiene needs. Feel Secure in Your Preparations
Containers are made from 100% non-toxic food-grade HDPE at 13 lbs per gallon (extremely thick plastic walls) and are completely BPA free. Brass fittings are highest quality available and partly recessed to minimize exposure. Convenient Space Saver
The water tank's footprint takes up the same space a 55 gallon drum does while almost holding 5 times the amount of water. Make Emergency Preparedness Safe
Comes with recessed strap groves allowing for the tank to be strapped to a wall so it is extremely difficult to tip over. Straps (not included) can be purchased at home improvement type stores. Make Emergency Preparedness Convenient
Lower valve allows for easy drainage and fill-ups (water rotating) and the upper valve makes filling portable water containers a breeze. Also the tank is 30" wide for fitting through common 32" doorways. Lastly, the cap is spring loaded to prevent air lock when releasing water through the valves. The ultimate in water storage technology! When it comes to extreme situations, water is THE most important element for survival. Your body loses on average 2.5 liters (or 2/3 of a gallon) of water everyday, but can handle only a loss of about 10-22% (which happens after about 3 days of no water) of its water weight before it becomes fatal. Secure your family’s health by obtaining a fresh water supply now to prepare for emergencies like earthquakes, violent storms, or contaminated public water supplies with this high-capacity water tank.

A few weight specs on the Ultimate Watertank:
- 71 lbs dry weight when removed from pallet
- 2,075 lbs filled with water
- 131 lbs on pallet when shipped
- 465 lbs dimensional weight (shipping carrier calculation)

Many water storage barrels on the market are awkward to stack and too wide for storing an adequate amount of water. This container holds almost as much as five 55-gallon barrels, but takes up the floor space of only one! Don’t forget to add Water Preserver to extend the life of your emergency water and reduce the frequency of water rotating!
