    This is a huge amount of beans. Those of us that have a small family, if we have a large selection of food to choose from, we can't possibly eat all of this before it spoils. This is the perfect thing to share with others in need.--Just remember to add 1 Tablespoon of baking soda to the beans when they soak overnight. It will take the gas out of the beans. You will see bubbles in the water before you discard it the next morning. Rinse the beans and put them in fresh water to cook slowly, all day.

    I figured if grandpa and grandma could live off pintos and cornbread it would be a great idea to have ALOT of this around! I know if an emergency hits we will have the protein we need for a while!!

    Mine arrived yesterday. I am very glad to add these to our food options. I plan on grinding some to add to baked goods to beef up the protein available. I have added several alternative cooking options to my emergency plans. And I am using them too.
