No matter if you've been storing food for years or if you're just looking for an easy way to get started--Saratoga Farms™ bacon bits will be an excellent food to have! Meats are an important category of the food pyramid and during disasters can be the most difficult requirement to fulfill. That's why it's important to have nutritious (not to mention tasty!) meats around that everyone will want to eat. This bacon is delicious on its own, or it can be combined with all kinds of ingredients to make healthy meals. And of course, having this easy-to-store food around will help reassure you because you'll know that you will be prepared against any emergency.

Natural disasters--like storms or earthquakes--come unexpectedly and can do massive damage. But they're not the only disasters that can damage your life. Things of a more personal nature, like getting laid off or getting sick, can also impact your ability to afford food. In some cases, going to the grocery store or cooking could be impossible because of an illness or an injury. Don't wait until you're sick or in the middle of a winter storm to think about food storage--stock up now and you'll have peace of mind for the future. With careful planning, disasters don't have to become tragedies.

TVP
Do you find this review helpful?  Yes No
I actually really like the TVP, it's cheaper, has the nutritional value and I think it makes your food storage more friendly for people who do not eat meat. At first it seems a little alien when you hear about it, but if you eat fast food you are putting much worse artificial things in your body. TVP carries a stigma sometimes, but it shouldn't.

Very nice and crunchy TVP
Do you find this review helpful?  Yes No
I know that TVP sometimes gets a bad rap, but I personally like it. It is a good, cheap, and convenient way to add protein to your diet. I really like the taste of these bacon bits. They are very crunchy, and are SO MUCH better than the cheaper products you would typically find in the grocery store. Also, the kids love it! Nice on soup, salad, scrambled eggs, omelet, and hardboiled eggs… you name it! I highly recommend adding this product to your pantry for both everyday use and to your long term storage!

A Real Favorite
Do you find this review helpful?  Yes No
Bacon Bits is one of my favorites. I like to use this as an additional ingredient with oatmeal, rice, beans and so many other items that need a little additional flavor. Its a real bonus that this is not a real meat bacon product but a flavored vegetable product so it is much more benificial to the body's health.

Great for salads!

I have lots of regular tvp, and I bought this flavored one to put on salads. Great way to add crunch and bacon flavor to any dish! I prefer the flavorless and the bacon flavor TVP. If you don't have TVP you are missing out! I think it is one of the most versatile ingriedients ever invented but not found in most grocery stores. Great inexpensive way to add protein. Makes great chili, veggie burgers, I add it to stuffing for stuffed peppers and turkey stuffing.
