I’m a news junkie. Every morning I visit a number of different websites and read up on the mornings headlines. With the internet and TV, we are able to get instant news from all over the world. I am continually amazed at how often major disasters happen. I am not sure if the frequency has increased or if they are reported on more thoroughly, but either way, it reminds me of the need for everyone to be prepared.

My wife and I started this business 5 years ago. To be frank, there are a lot of kookie ideas out there in the preparedness industry. We are not hardcore survivalists. We are not digging a bomb shelter under our house. We are not burying gold in our backyard. We are an average American family with the same concerns that you have.

We do believe in a measured approach to getting prepared. We do believe that everyone should be prepared for disasters and if you think it won’t happen to you, you are fooling yourself. We believe getting prepared is like buying any other type of insurance. You should be able to buy what fits the needs of you, your family or your businesses. But you should make sure you buy it. For many, the thought of getting prepared is so overwhelming that they don’t do anything. Don’t worry about buying everything at once. Start small, but make sure you get started today.
