I purchased a can of OvaEasy and also an envelope to try now. I hate the taste of powdered eggs, so I was aprehensive. I tried them as scrambled eggs first. Wonderful! I couldn't tell the difference between the OvaEasy and fresh. Then I reconstituted some with 2% milk and made French toast. No different than my usual with fresh eggs. I LOVE this product! I just ordered a six can case of them. I will now truly enjoy the eggs in my food storeage. Thank you!

This product offers a lot of peace of mind for food preparation. I will definitely be purchasing more cans for my hurricane and long term storage. No funny taste… this is the real thing! Just wish that it was a little cheaper. If you run out of fresh eggs… this is your product to grab for. Use as you would fresh eggs in any recipe. Each pouch is a dozen… and there are 6 pouches in a # 10 can… so you always have 6 dozen eggs on hand per can. Highly recommended!

These actually taste like eggs and arent dried out or anything. I have purchased a couple cans after trying them to store because they are so versatile. Last night I decided to mix an entire pouch using the recommended 1 2/3rds cups of water per pouch. I used the Ready Store's Blender Bottle, which has a whisk in the shape of a ball inside. I added the powder, then the water on top and it was close but it all fit in the bottle. After not all that much shaking, it was completely mixed. I cooked as if I were cooking regular eggs, adding a little salt as I got done, and you cannot tell the difference between this and real eggs! SERIOUSLY! Also, eggs have all the essential proteins your body needs but cannot make itself, so eggs are a vital part of emergency food kits for most anyone.

So excited to see this come up as a "Group item" so we could save more money. This is MUCH cheaper than I have found it previously and has an extra 2 years on the shelf life compared to other products.

These taste just as good as real eggs. We used to buy powdered eggs for when we ran out of real eggs and the powder didn't dissolve all the way, so we could taste powder in some of the bites. The best part is not scrambled eggs. This is a true processed egg that can be used the same as fresh egg for baking in any recipe. I am stationed in Afghanistan. I use this product for baking cakes, cookies, pies, you name it. No one can tell the eggs come from a can. Chemically it reacts the same as fresh eggs in a recipe without the very real concern of contamination, salmonella, etc.

  • The only egg you should ever buy for storage.

    • Price

Ova Easy are the one and only eggs anyone should ever consider putting in their long-term food storage. There is absolutely no comparison to the standard (horrible-tasting) usual powdered eggs or even the various pre-cooked and freeze-dried scrambled eggs out there. OvaEasy do, indeed, reconstitute to taste like fresh eggs, and you can easily make up a mix from them for scrambled eggs and omelets that really cannot be told from those made from shell eggs (mine contains added powdered whole milk (or nonfat powdered milk plus powdered cream), salt, pepper, a dab of glucose to replace that removed in processing these, a bit of Instant ClearJel/RealJel modified cornstarch to be sure they will not leak any moisture on standing, a pinch of Ener-G baking powder to guarantee an airy, fluffy omelet, and a pinch of carrot juice powder because I find them just a little pale compared to my shell eggs. Since I always add milk/cream, salt, pepper, and a pinch of baking powder when scrambling eggs or making omelets, the only real additions to adjust for using OvaEasy powder are the modified waxy cornstarch to protect against weeping on standing, the carrot juice powder to boost the color to my preferred sunny yellow, and the fraction of a teaspoon of glucose to give them back the amount in the whole eggs before processing.) The only thing you make eggs with that you can't duplicate with Ova Easy is hard-boiled eggs (but that's why there are quail eggs canned in water, right?).

The only drawback to OvaEasy is the price. In fairness, that's partly due to the price Nutriom charges the people who package Ova Easy for long-term storage plus the fact these cans are the ones with 6 packages containing a dozen eggs each rather than just being filled with Ova Easy powder. There are pros and cons to both ways of buying Ova Easy. The remainder of a can will keep much better if the eggs are a dozen each in separate foil packets, but the eggs also cost more that way. If you want the separate packet per dozen, then I'd suggest waiting for a sale on these, as regular price at the Ready Store comes to a bit over 55 cents per egg, and the same cans of 6 packets are available elsewhere for a regular price of 42 cents per egg that drops to 37-1/2 cents on regular sales. (If you are willing to purchase a case of 6 cans filled with OvaEasy powder equal to 96 eggs per can, then regular price elsewhere is 28 cents per egg and sale price is 25, but that's a lot of eggs per can as well as per case, so probably a good idea only if you regularly go through 3 dozen eggs or more a month. Nutriom has documentation that their eggs hold their nutrition much better than standard powdered eggs as well as tasting incomparably better, but you still want to use up your stock within 5 years, 7 at the very outside and you don't want to have the powder sitting around opened for more than a couple of months.)

I have just ordered so I haven't tried it yet. This came HIGHLY recommended to me by several friends who are food storage experts.

My children were not a fan! These eggs dissolve wonderfully! No more powdered eggs for us for sure!! These are delicious and easy to make.

I've only eaten this product scrambled. That said, It has the flavor of real scrambled eggs but with a much nicer uniform color. The texture was perfect! We have recently added several more cans to our storage.

I am ordering these ASAP. I keep hearing great things about them and can't wait to get some of my own for my storage. I have a friend that I try some at her home and they were really good and they seemed easy to prepare.

My breakfast scramble just got easier. I rehydrate my potato chunks, onion Mushrooms and red bell pepper with a bit of salt, pepper. and Zaterans season. Add to skillet with oil until desired browning then add that incredible Yoders canned bacon then these OvaEasy eggs. There is never a bite left over!
