I tried this at the OR exhibit show in Salt Lake City last week at the Mountain House booth and it was really good. Pieces of egg just like the fried rice I used to eat in the Bay Area. Does have chicken and not ham, ham is the more typical meat to go in freid rice but the chicken is good. Overall a pretty low price for a Mountain House can (especially on sale) so cost per serving is pretty good. Going to buy a case of this.

Benefits & Description

25+ Year Shelf-Life | Just Add Water | Great Taste

Lightweight freeze-dried food
Freeze-dried food tastes great because it keeps the original taste, texture, nutrients, and aroma of the meal before it was freeze-dried. Convenience when you need it most
Just add hot water and in a matter of minutes you are eating a nutritious meal the whole family will enjoy. Heck use cold water if needed and you'll get a good meal too. Be prepared for the next time of need
With a 25 year shelf life you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from being prepared. Make your food storage exciting
Great main course for a complete, delicious meal. Add some fruits and veggies as a side and a tasty drink for more variety and nutrition. This classic freeze-dried Asian dish is your ticket to a tasty meal! When that emergency strikes fresh foods will be harder to obtain--you don’t want to be stuck eating bland meals or going to bed hungry. Filled with tender chicken entrée is full of rice and scrambled eggs, onions, mushrooms, green peas rep peppers, carrots, and soy sauce.

Just add boiling water, let stand for a few minutes, and serve a hot tasty meal. Or if necessary, prepare the whole can at once by adding the boiled water directly to the can! Every prepared pantry needs some hearty meals, and the Mountain House Chicken Fried Rice will deliver a traditional flavor you recognize, not something every emergency supply can claim.

This freeze-dry process offers many advantages over dehydrating for many reasons such as the ability to retain the taste, texture, and shape of fresh frozen foods. This means that the chicken will taste and feel like naturally cooked chicken and never chalky or rubbery. Freeze-drying locks in the freshness, vitamins, nutrients, color and aroma of your meals.

Mountain House™ #10 cans have up to a 25+ YEAR SHELF LIFE claim from the manufacturer but we've tried some that were almost 35 years old and they were still good!
