I am very excited about this honey! It was a good value as I got it as the deal of the day. However, I understood it to have an indefinate shelf life but the bucket says use by Aug. 15, 2017. Did I misunderstand?

    From The Ready Store:

Marlene, we just spoke with Cox's and they said the shelf life is indefinite. According to the customer service rep they put the date on the pail to encourage use. We told them we would like to see it removed as it communicating bad information. They said they would consider it and get back to us.

Long story short, the honey has an indefinite shelf life. Hope this helps,

Absolutely delicious. A quality product for adding to other dishes or just dip out a spoonful and enjoy. Softens nicely at 70 degrees and sweetens everything it touches. I try to have a spoonful every day. I ordered several and am sure I will reorder before very long. Make a good day a great day and enjoy some of this delicious Honey.

I'm starting to get into more natural food pantry items. This looks like it would be really great on top of biscuits or scones. I also make dog biscuits and dogs are not supposed to eat sugar but the recipe book allows honey. I don't know if there is a difference from raw honey to regular honey, but it is good to have on hand for people anyway.

We received our buckets of the Raw Creamed Honey about a week ago. As always with the Ready Store, the tubs were securely packed and shipped arriving to us undamaged. We immediately stored the extra tubs in an area of the home that stays under 65 degrees F. We have been using our opened tub in food recipes, as well as on hot biscuits and toasts. I use it daily with my Green Tea. We place our opened tub of honey in the refrigerator. Whether stored in the refigerator (NOT freezer) or not, the consistency of the raw honey in the tub reminds me of frozen ice cream: you can either use a scope, or butter knife to "cut" the portion you want out. I carefully use a teaspoon by holding the spoon on the curved cup part--not the handle as it may bend the handle if dipped out too aggressive.

Hopefully, if (when!) a major critical incident occurs in the U.S., honey bees and American bee farmers will be able to reset their operations. Meanwhile, this Raw Creamed Honey will fill that void until they do. Blessings!

Great taste and value. Local honey can cost about $10 per small bottle, this is much cheaper and tastes the same. Great for ginger tea too when you catch a cold. Ginger tea and honey seriously cures colds faster than any medicine Ive tried.

My husband and son are huge creamed honey fans. This is the best creamed honey we have ever bought. We purchased several tubs for long term storage. I refill a one pound container for convenience to store and bring to the table. It scoops out nicely with no mess. This will be the most rotated item in our food storage. I will continue to purchase this excellent product on a regular basis.

So good, I want to eat this stuff right out of the bucket. This is the first time that i have used creamed honey and it's wonderful. I purchased this brand, because it is "Raw". I can only find Raw honey at specialty stores in my area, and it is very Expensive. These Buckets are a good price - We use honey in our coffee & tea, in baking, and for making granola. I plan to buy more soon !

Let me get a couple gripes out of the way first. #1 As mentioned in other reviews, there is a "use by" date on these. Disheartening as if I try to barter or sell my stock as I rotate it, this will likely reduce the value, #2 While this isn't "cooked/heated" it isn't considered by many to be really "raw." Raw honey usually means honey that has been expelled from the comb but is otherwise unprocessed. This honey has been filtered - I like that... but it's not raw per industry standard.

Now the good stuff. It's filtered!!! No bee bits, wings, wax globules, or larva pieces (wax moth). The taste is great and the texture smooth (not gritty like some creamed [crystalized] honey). Unless I can find a better deal elsewhere I'll be buying this once a year or so.

How does the packaging on this product hold up for long term storage? I'm a fan of raw honey and this is a great price, but I'm worried about leakage if it gets too warm & critters getting into it... I'm also concerned about the temps for proper storage - my storage area is inside, but limited & temps can vary greatly in the southwest if you try to conserve on heating & cooling costs...

    From The Ready Store:

The temps should not matter in your case. Honey can be brought back to normal consistency by merely warming it back up. Many do it by putting it in a container then putting that container in boiling water.

Price on this is great, and you don't have to worry about it crystallizing because it already has (and then been beaten smooth). However, anyone planning on putting this into long-term storage should transfer it to glass jars or cans first. The plastic bucket it comes in is not really varmint-proof and will also allow slow evaporation of the liquid in the honey over time.

Benefits & Description

Indefinite Shelf Life | Raw & Natural | Great Taste

Smooth honey, not hard
Do you know how honey has a tendency to crystallize and harden over time? Cox’s Honey developed a process of taking that granulated honey and making it taste and feel wonderful! It is called Creamed Honey. There is nothing added or taken away and your family will love it. Add something different to your food storage and keep some creamed honey around. You will be glad you did. Something sweet for your food storage
We all know it’s important to carry the basics in your food supply, but mix in a little Creamed Honey for something extra special! US Grade A Pure
Just scoop out a spoonful and spread over bread, your sandwich, or add a dollop to your warm cup of tea. The possibilities are endless. The unique granulation process to make this creamed honey ensures you have a smooth texture honey packed with a delicious and robust taste. The honey will turn white as the granules are crushed during the process, but don’t worry! There is nothing added or taken away. It is still pure raw unpasteurized honey, just made to perfection!

Granted when people think of emergency disaster food supply, Raw Creamed Honey is not usually at the top of their list. But if your emergency is something more along the lines of getting laid off from work, then there might not be any help at all coming for quite some time. Be sure you are prepared with a variety of options to give your family in case disaster, in whatever form, strikes.

Raw Creamed Honey is absolutely delicious to the taste. It has a variety of uses like spreading it on bagels, toast, or in sandwiches. Creamed Honey is thicker so it won’t run all over like liquid honey does. You can use it the same as you would liquid honey. It goes great with all your favorite recipes such as cornbread, muffins, and any baking or cooking you do. This Raw Creamed Honey will give your food a powerful sweet punch!

How long will it stay good in your food storage? Honey will keep indefinitely if stored in sealed container. It is best stored at room temperature. Refrigeration promotes granulation but is still good by warming it back up. To do so bring a pan of water to a boil then turn off the heat and place the container of honey into this boiling water. Leave until cooled.

I bought this a while back to use in baking, but found so many more uses for it. With the price of honey constantly rising in my area, I ordered 2 more today to stock up. Also less messy!
