    I do a lot of hiking and camping and I have used my mini works for years and it has been awesome. The last thing I want on a hike is to get sick and this filter kicks butt in cleaning the water. I have never had a single problem with it. Very easy to use and clean.

    WHETHER WE USE THIS AT HOME OR OUT ON THE ROAD IT ENSURES OUR FAMILY'S HEALTH IN TIME OF CRISIS ESPECIALLY. i WOULD NOT FEEL THAT OUR EMERGENCY SUPPLIES WERE COMPLETE WITHOUT THIS WATER FILTER!

    This is a good filter for around the $100 price range. When compared to the others it is about the same, all depends on your brand preference.

    the filter is adequate, but ceramic is fragile. I've seen the cartridge break after being dropped. its a little heavy and bulky for packing in a BOB compared to other products

The lightweight and compact portability of the MiniWorks EX makes it perfect for emergency kits and, thanks to its innovative AirSpring Accumulator, is capable of pumping one liter of water per minute. Unlike other filters, the MiniWorks EX won’t leave a metallic taste behind. The durable ceramic element ensured protection, pumps water clean for years and can be cleaned repeatedly for full recovery with no tools required for complete disassembly.

This filter is strong, protecting you from harmful bacteria such as protozoa (including crypto and giardia), and particulate so you can rest assured that your family won’t get sick. The MiniWorks EX is also perfect for hiking, camping, or auto emergency kits!

By using a bubble of trapped air, the AirSpring Accumulator pushes more water through in less time. On the handle down stroke the air bubble is compressed, storing some of the pump force, then on the up stroke, the bubble expands pushing water through the cartridge. Your body loses on average 2.5 liters of water everyday (or 2/3 of a gallon), but can handle only a loss of about 10-22% of its water weight (which can happen at around 3 days with no water) before it becomes fatal.
