    This looks great. It is sturdy and well-built, and it looks like it'll take a hard knock (or many) and hold together nicely. I expect it will need to be sharpened to get to that ideal edge, and I still have to take it in the back yard to test it with a rogue bush to see how the cutting edge fares, but I anticipate I'll be getting a couple more of these. If nothing else, it's seriously intimidating! For the price, it really can't beat. You never know what you might need it for!!

    Not only good for clearing brush, but also a formidable close range personal defense item. I keep it with my Bear Grylls Ultimate gear bundle and BOB. I am good to go.

    I ordered this gator machete for my son in law for Christmas to add to his survival supplies and it arrived today. The machete looks to be of very good, solid construction and one side is for cutting and one side is for sawing. It also comes with a heavy, rigid canvas sheath. Very good investment.

    We recieved this machete as a gift this last Christmas. It is well constructed and seems like it will do well enough. With that being said, I do not believe that it will not out last some of our other more expensive tools. Always remember that true quality will not always come cheep! Good machete to get ya started.

    Low quality steel, the blade chipped and nicked on reasonably soft vegetation. I was not impressed. The saw worked well for the first few cuts but also dulled very quickly.

The Gerber Gator Machete has a dual sided 18" blade made of black oxide high carbon steel. The blade on one side has a saw while the other side has a sharp edge that makes quick work of what is put in its way. For a machete of this size it is lightweight and durable at only 18 ounces yet forceful enough to pack a waloop when you need to work on ground cover blocking you from getting to where you need to go.

The knife's construction is made from non-slip rubber grip which allow increased accuracy in use and comfort to work a long day due to its ergonomically designed handle.
The machete also comes with a military-grade, mildew-resistant nylon sheath for easy transport.
