This comes with a strap to mount to your gas meter. What could be more convenient in an emergency--no looking for tools, when you have more important things to think about. Our family bought this due to the low price.

Everyone should get one of these, but there is no point unless EVERYONE in the house knows how to use it and when, including your kids, your not always home. It's not worth it to be caught without it!

I have a bunge wrench that has a gas-shut off opening, but I'm getting this one because it's metal and has the strap to store it right by the gas meter. Not much use having the tool if you can't find it in an emergency.

"Earthquake survival tool" is a funny name, because this wrench is important for a lot of situations. I have one, and it works as it's intended. I keep this on top of my gas meter in my basement.
