These beans are great!1 of 1 people found this review helpful
You will want beans in your diet in an emergency situation: they are packed with nutrients and protein. I can't imagine a stock of food without some beans. This ReadyPack has a good sample of tasty beans at a great price. Highly recommended!
A great sale price for a high protein food!
Getting all these bean selections together in one selection is definately a plus. I plan to make a nutrient rich bean soup with it with added rice and marinara sauce of course.
Learn how to cook with beans
Great way to test out different types of beans and learn to cook with them in various recipes. I'm a big fan of these ReadyPacks for that reason.
This is a great source of protein. A great option to prepare.
Another good idea, but small nit to pick.
A case discount on basic bean storage--terrific! OTOH, this particular selection is slanted a little too heavily toward Mexican cooking for me. Rather than half pinto beans (2 cans whole + 1 of frijoles), I'd like this much better if one of those 2 cans of pinto beans was either garbanzo beans or red lentils for Middle Eastern/Indian dishes or even split peas for soup. Unfortunately, it appears the Ready Store doesn't stock any of those (at least not yet), so for what they do have for beans, this is a good combo as long as you lean toward Mexican/Tex-Mex when cooking beans.
As well as a little more range in variety for their standard legumes, I'd also like to see a full selection of dehydrated pre-cooked beans at the Ready Store as well. While more expensive than your basic dried beans, pre-cooked are really the only way to do beans on the trail or in an emergency situation where time and water are both often at a premium when it comes to getting meals on the table.
