I bought this kit a month ago and finally got around to storing it away in my basement yesterday. Aside from the great variety and price I LOVE how The Ready Store publishes the complete nutritional details for their kits... from what I have seen no one else shows all of the details - probably for a reason.

I spent hours a day for about a week comparing several websites, looking into what each supply contains. Debating whether I wanted classic, flex, or ready prep. When it came down to it, this kit was right for us. This is our starter kit, as there is my 3 year old son, my wife and myself. If you get this instead of the 2400 ready prep, it allows you to buy more focused packages depending on your preferences. We chose some specific fruit and milk packages based on family preferences. The customer service I received while buying this product was amazing as well.

Took a LOT of time researching these kits across a bunch of different companies. This kit seemed just right for me, full of just add water meals which makes it super easy to use. It is balanced with the right mix of foods and the variety is great. Aside from price being really good the quality is also great. I have opened up a couple cans already and am really happy with it. Now the trick is not getting into it when the fridge is empty.

This is a great starter kit to get you going. To maximize caloric intake daily I suggest also purchasing value buckets of Instant Rice and Oatmeal. This is a low cost way to get a lot of extra calories per day. The Ready prep is definitely the way to go vs the Flex and Classic because you don't get a bunch of Wheat and grains that need to be processed. The Ready Prep is awesome in that all you need to do is add hot water. Remember to store a ton of water. We are installing a second well with an old fashioned Hand pump so when the power goes out we still have fresh water straight from the earth. This would solve most peoples long term fresh water needs (which are probably the least prepared for). I wish I had an extra $3000 right now as I'd be buying this package to get my family up to a full 2 years of storage.

I have purchased from the Ready Store several times. This is the first time I was disappointed. Of the 12 cases I received, one case was rice, one case was peach or apple drink, most of one case was noodles, most of one case was mashed potatoes. Lots and lots of carbs, many entrees had NO meat. I was very disappointed with what I have received for this order.

    From The Ready Store:

Dennis, the ReadyPrep 2000 kit was built with several goals in mind. One for ultimate variety, to see the class leading variety click the "What's In The Box" tab to see the 51 different products that make up this kit. Two, a great price that delivers 2000 calories per day. Third, is nutritional needs. While not all meals have meat in them, you can see by clicking on the Nutritional tab that this kit does provide over 130% of your daily protein needs. As for carbohydrate levels, this kit provides 150% of your daily requirements. Customers looking to buy a low carb diet should look specifically for supplies that contain almost entirely vegetables, meats, and some fruits like berries (low sugar fruits). Dennis, we will be in contact with your shortly to see what we can do to turn your experience around so that you are happy in the end, our goal with every customer's transaction.

    Thanks,

Benefits & Description

A full year supply of food for a great price | Shelf-life of 27 years | Easy to prepare meals

Preparation is simple
Super quick and easy to prepare, while providing important energy and nutrients. You'll be READY to eat at a moment's notice! Can store easily in your home
This kit comes in a collection of #10 cans that can fit nicely into your food storage plans and space. High-quality ingredients
These foods are made from great-quality food ingredients. Food for a full 365 days
This kit is designed to provide 2,000 calories per day for a full year. Giving your family the security you need
This kit provides easy to prepare foods that your family will love and provides you with peace of mind in an emergency. This READYprep 12-month 2000 calorie kit is full of easy to prepare dishes and sides. These tried-and proven foods will provide 2,000 calories a day and will last you the entire year. Aside from the plentiful calories, the food also has a 27 year shelf-life so it will be there when you need it.

As for the contents of the kit it is full of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, side dishes, vegetables, fruits, cooking basics, grains, drinks and more! This kit, with items from Saratoga Farms and Mountain House, includes foods like Scrambled Eggs with Sausage, Chicken Ala King, Beef Stew, Potato Chunks, Instant White Rice, Alfredo Sauce, Soup Base, Diced Freeze-Dried Chicken, Egg Noodles and much, much more! Click on the "What's In The Box" tab to see them all.

Convenience is at the forefront with our READYprep food storage supply kits. Most meals will take 5-10 minutes to prepare. This will save you time so you can focus on other important areas and cross food preparation off of the list. You'll be Ready with meals facing an emergency!

When comparing kits across competitors you will see many touting the number of servings instead of the actual calorie per day the kit provides. This is a huge red flag because if you do the math you will quickly see that you are being shorted big time on the amount of food you will really need. They hope you see a big serving count and assume it is enough food but when you multiply the calorie per serving by the number of servings and divide that by the number of days they are claiming the kit to last you will see that it is woefully low... more of a concentration camp diet really.

As for the food itself, The Ready Store prides itself on only using the best ingredients to make our products. Only quality food sourced from growers with great track records of quality and food safety. We won't cut corners by bringing in cheap foods from distant lands where food safety has been a problem. We can't say that for some other companies who source their food based on the notion that you will be glad to have anything in a disaster and that quality doesn't matter. That isn't how we think and make food storage solutions. We create food storage that you would not tolerate but love using everyday. Second rate food isn't an option, because if it isn't good enough for our family it isn't good enough for our customers, we simply won't cut corners and offer a poor product.

In the end, the READYprep-2000 12-month food supply kit comes from the leading brands in the industry and is full of the nutrients and calories your family will need. Your family will love the meals, you’ll love the easy preparation, and your wallet will love the great deals when buying bulk food kits from The Ready Store.
