Great addition to any long term food storage kit
50 of 97 people found this review helpfulI bought two #10 cans and a single pouch to taste test. The one in the pouch was a little broken up inside the pouch, but that did not effect taste. I would have broken it up anyway to eat it. A little on the dry side, but it is "freeze-dried" I thought it was awesome. I would imagine this kind of thing being a great snack on the Int'l Space Station. Very tasty, no weight to it, 'fun' to eat rather than some kind of tasteless survival ration.

Desserts are a must
0 of 1 people found this review helpfulI hate people who stock up on beans and rice and wheat and consider themselves prepared for whatever. Who wants to eat that for weeks when you can have ice cream sandwiches. The container is very light and although it is still a #10 can, you can find yourself putting it in more precarious places you wouldnt put a 12lb can of drink mix.

This was a splurge buy for me and my daughter...they are broken up a bit but hey they are going to be eaten pretty fast any way..whats more fun than freeze dried ice cream.

Great Comfort Food
When SHTF, I'll be happy to have some ice cream sandwiches. I know this will keep my little ones satisfied for at least a little while!

A great option
This is a really nice product to have in an emergency. It's such a treat to be able to have a dessert.

Fun Treat
4 of 9 people found this review helpfulThese are just a Fun & Different Treat. They are kind of "crispy", take small bites and let them "rehydtate" in your mouth. Ice cream that requires no freezer is handy for camping or hiking. In a shtf situation, these would satisfy a sugar fix nicely.

Icecream
41 of 75 people found this review helpfulI purchased 3 cans of Icecream sandwiches after trying a one serving size from this site. It has a different texture but once it starts to melt in your mouth is truely tastes like icecream. The price is a little high but it is comfort food and worth the extra money to have something different.

Suprise for the lunch box
1 of 2 people found this review helpfulTried the ice cream sandwiches tonight and they were so good. Very dairy flavor and the chocolate was very good. Tried dipping it in some milk like a big cookie, recommend that highly. Great for my lunch tomorrow.

Good, but I think they are too much
6 of 10 people found this review helpfulIt is a bit cheaper to just buy the individually wrapped ones from mountain house! I think that makes it easier to hand out or save. These will last for 30yrs vs. mountain houses 5 or so, but you will want to eat them and buy more before then anyways, they taste so good!
Comment from The Ready Store:
Daniele, yes you are surely getting a longer shelf life in the #10 can. That is the trade-off versus the MH pouches.
Thanks for the review Daniele!6/6/12
