I got this for Christmas from my parents, they told me to give it a try and if I wanted more they would get me some. I opened the can and tried some plain, it was surprisingly good. I decided to put some in water to re-hydrate it, and I made tacos with it. It was fantastic!, never would have thought it was anything different than you would have got at the store.

I used this in chili the other day. Couldn't tell the difference from fresh ground meat except there was less work and less clean-up. Big plus!

This beef has some good flavor to it. What I like best about it is that I can cook my own meals (compared to most FD "just add water" meals). You can get creative and make hamburgers if you want to. Great flavor and very fair price!

This wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It was good enough, it will do when the real thing isn't available and it will be a good addition to your emergency supplies. It has a very different texture than traditional ground beef, however, and you really have to cook it over a cook steady boil to get it to the point where you at least can suspend the disbelief that is it really meat. It tastes best when you can season it heavily, and it held up really well as an additional to marinara or when we seasoned it up a lot for taco meat. Just don't expect it to behave quite the same way as traditional ground beef. It will be perfect for when ground beef isn't available though!

Just add a little water and you have fully cooked ground beef ready for your favorite recipes! Be prepared for the next time of need
With a 30 year shelf life you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from being prepared. Add protein to your food storage pantry
With 19 grams of protein packed into each serving you will know this often overlooked nutrient won't be an issue for you and your family. Ground beef crumbles are such a huge kitchen staple it shouldn’t be left out of your emergency food storage! Nobody likes to dwell on the possibility of scary situations such as losing power for weeks after a hurricane or being stranded without road access due to a mudslide or earthquake, but these disasters do happen and we need to prepare our homes now to avoid panic if an emergency strikes.

This freeze-dried pre-cooked ground beef is easy to prepare during an emergency (just add water) and doesn’t require refrigeration so if your power is out you don’t need to worry about spoilage. It’s easy to throw into any recipe from casseroles to stews - so there are infinite possibilities for hearty meals. This ground beef is 100% free of growth hormones and it's freeze-dried, not dehydrated, so you will enjoy the flavor, texture, and smells of cooked ground beef that you are used to.

Dehydrated foods can sometimes lose much of their flavor and texture. At Saratoga Farms they use a freeze-drying process to lock in the taste, texture, and shape of fresh frozen foods. Freeze-drying retains the vitamins, nutrients, and aroma of fresh frozen foods. This company understands the need to be prepared for any life changing situation. Saratoga Farms combines the shelf-stable convenience of dehydrated or canned goods with the flavorful experience of quickly prepared freeze-dried foods to give your family the peace of mind it deserves.
