After reviewing many sites, we choose to purchase our TVP through Readystore as you get qualty product as a very good price. Although each of us may different results to the taste test, it is clear that this product is a cost effective way of storing protein for emergency situations or to have on hand for daily use. Personally, my wife and I like the flavor and add it to a wide variety of dishes.

Keep in mind these are "crumbles". Personally, I like bigger chunks of beef but it's ok for tacos and sloppy joes. MUCH cheaper than "real" beef and a good source of protein so will order more to keep on hand.

I have eaten A LOT of TVP and soy based meat substitutes and this is an excellent product. Rehydrate and use the TVP as a ground meat substitute, or sprinkle on salads for a protein boost.
PROS: Exceeds in flavor, texture, and value. Drastically extends the total food stores when added to a storage plan.
Cons: Sodium, but when used as a dietary substitute in an emergency situation, the sodium will be negligible compared to what your daily intake probably is now.

Summary: The TVP six pack should be your first purchase, or part of your first purchase, due to the many PROS that it offers.

This won't fool anyone into thinking that it's real beef, but it does a good job of making soups a little heartier. Definitely don't eat it on it's own unless you want a mouthful of rubber!

I use this frequently for every day meals. I add my own spices and it tastes great. We make meatloaf out of it once a month and it is so nice not to have all the grease from using meat. My daughter is on a soy health kick and this satisfies her wishes and my demands on nutrition.

We grew up in ‘meat and potato’ families, but meat is now expensive and eating meat alone is not the best for our health. I always keep TVP on hand and often add it while cooking. It helps stretch the meat and no one even realizes it’s in the dishes I make. TVP makes a great addition to meatloaves, tacos, chili, sloppy joes, meatballs, or is anything seasoned. It keeps forever, needs no refrigeration, takes very little space, and is healthy. Since its cost is so little, I’d suggest everyone buy some and experiment with it. It just may become a staple in your pantry too.

It's not as good as the chicken, but it is still alright. I think it's because it is crumbles of beef, so unless you double up on servings you won't feel like your having a good amount of it.

This beef substitute is really good, when it is mixed in with the chilli mix or other entrees. By itself it was not nearly as good as the dehydrated beef.
