An Abolute Must Have For Food Storage!
Have you ever tried to dehydrate your own red pepers? We have. Very hard and time consuming. Great price for quality produce. No worries about spoilage and easy to prepare while being very nutritional. Red pepers are expensive to buy as they take longer to mature. Try growing them in your own garden and they take significant care to mature without defect or disease.
Great product and great way to save money. Dehydrating peppers yourself is quite a task, not to mention you dont get many when all is said and done. I can peppers instead but I cant use the canned ones like these. I add these to skillets, breakfast wraps, etc and they are great. Like the strawberries, its much cheaper and efficient to buy them than do them yourself.
I just watched a TV cooking show that said the basic trinity of cajun cooking is bell peppers, celery and onions. I have been trying to find a recipe for dirty rice (if anyone has one, I'd appreciate it), but at least I will have all of the main ingredients.
These are awesome in sauces! I love the fact that I can keep red peppers on hand and can just grab some to throw in recipes! Great value, too!
It is unusual to see freeze dried bell peppers while shopping for preps (at least to me - this is the first I've seen them!). I picked up a can of these to store on the shelf to liven up some bland meals in a SHTF scenario. I haven't eaten them yet, but the price is right and they are Saratoga Farms, so they must be good!
I just paid 88 cents for a GREEN bell pepper - can't afford the more expensive red ones.
So to get red peppers on sale, handy for use in all my Italian recipes, is a windfall for me. Peppers and onions sauteed make a delicious side dish. Add eggs to create an omelet, and you've got a nutritious meal.
Vitamin C "Super Food"
One serving provides an amazing 138% of the RDA of Vitamin C--far more than one serving of oranges! If there are long periods of time in emergency situations where we can't get fresh fruits & veggies (for those living in colder areas with shorter growing seasons) small amounts of this freeze dried red pepper would ward off disease and sickness associated with lack of Vitamin C. Even if someone isn't fond of red peppers, they might be willing to eat small amounts of them to stay healthy in hard times. Will be adding more of these to our long term storage.
Can you believe how much Vitamin C?
I just bought these on sale today. This is one product I have been wanting for awhile. I tried the mixed peppers at a friend's house and really liked them but we wanted just red peppers. Red peppers are expensive at the store and while I attempt to grow them, I am usually met with limited yields. I have dehydrated my own and just like the texture, taste and ease of freeze dried so much better! I don't think I will ever dehydrate my own peppers again!
A scrumptious vegetable at a sale price! Can't get any better than that.
So handy and ready to add to omlets, soups, stews or rice dishes. Red peppers at grocery stores are always so expensive.
A wonderful vegetable packed with lots of Vit. C.
Not only is this product handy to use in breads, pancakes, fruit salad, omlets and all sorts of recipes, but is so economical compared to grocery store prices.
No prep time involved and handy to add to recipes.
Because i am familiar with this product and know how easy it is to incorporate it into omlets and stews, I've ordered it for my friend who is ill and needs an easy access product such as this.
These bell peppers are a great addition to burritos, enchiladas, skillets, and so many other dishes.
