  My family was split about 50-50 on the Neopolitan ice cream and the Raspberry Crumble. While neither are as good as a homemade or store bought desserts, they both offer a treat with a long shelf life in an emergency situation. I would definitely keep these 2 items in a 72-hour kit to make the best of a bad situation. The Ready Store's recent article on comfort food in an emergency was very good. While desserts may not seem like an "essential" item, they can be more important than many of us think.

  My kids enjoyed the novelty of these when they were young. Now they eat them as a sweet treat.

  I wanted to give my wife a special treat and I knew she never had freeze dried ice cream before (I did many years ago once). Although she doesn’t even care for strawberry or chocolate ice cream at all, she loved it. She was amazed how delicious all three flavors were when they were freeze dried.

  I like the icecream sandwichs a lot better but, this product is not bad once you get past the texture. nice treat.

  Just the same as 25 years ago when I was a kid! Now today I had my own kids try it for the first time. These are great for the comfort foods that we need in distress, I agree. the vanilla could use a touch more flavor, but all in all pleasing in many ways. I just thought that this ice cream would be excellent for hiking and eating one during a break. Wont get a cold treat, but at least get it when you normally couldnt. I will be stocking these singles for the kiddies school lunches and also for our food storage. I will also get a #10 can for a party or for "that" day.

  I was a bit taken back. I don't know what I thought I was gonna get.... a big frosty bowl of cold ice cream? It would act as a comfort food in an emergency, I would buy it again, now I know what to expect.

  I feel like this was like eating dense styrofoam and it didn't taste much better. Kid's love the novelty of it though, it's definitely worth it to brighten their day.

  This stuff gets weird and frothy when you are eating it because it's got this dry chalky taste, but I know that you need some sort of desserts during a situation so people feel better. This would be good for the kids, it's unique space type food, it'll distract for a little bit at least.
