Exactly what we wanted23 of 43 people found this review helpful
Never having cooked with powdered butter, we were unsure what to expect. We were very pleased to find that cooking with the powder worked just as well as cooking with fresh butter. This is an indispensable component of our food storage.

This tastes wonderful and it is easy to prepair. Great for scramble eggs and French Toast. It is a bit tricky getting the mix of powder to water right. I selected the "con" of "not very felaxible" due to no real practical information for using the product, hit or miss is not real good but I still recommend it due to ease of use and taste.

This is great for baking or even for using on a baked potato or vegetable if needed! It is a liquid though when mixed so keep that in mind.

I love butter! Never did try any of the "phony" butters pushed over the years. I was really glad to find I wouldn't have to go without during hard times.
10 year shelf life2 of 2 people found this review helpful
Butter with a 10 year shelf life is a nice addition to mid-long term storage, and camping supplies. Real Buttery Flavor.
Great Product!4 of 4 people found this review helpful
You must have butter. I really like this product. Taste good in many things. I tried this on toast. Great! I have tried this in baking cookies. Great! I have tried this with the powdered eggs. Great!!! Must have product. Great long term storage. No need to refrigarate.
This is a really nice product. You can substitute it for better and always have security within your food storage.
You don't realize how much you'll miss butter
Butter has become a staple in our lives: bread, corn, baking, pancakes, etc...
In an emergency situation I want to not only survive, but to live comfortably. For only $15, you can have enough tasty butter powder that'll last on your shelf for 25 years. Definately worth it!
There aren't many things you can make without any need for butter. This is a must to have in your pantry.
I am always forgetting to put out butter to soften, and this solves that problem fast. I originally bought it for baking, but it has come in handy on my forgetful days.
Add to shortening
I like to mix this butter powder with some shortening, which has a pretty long shelf life, to add some butter flavor to the shortening's texture.
A must have
I use this butter powder in the meal in a jar recipes I have found on the internet. Very rich creamy flavor. I have also used it in bread making. This combined with cheese blend is excellent!
A great price for an important asset to any emergency pantry.
I plan to utilize this product extensively especially since it needs no refrigeration! Butter is an important flavor in a lot of my cooking. Added to plain rice or pasta it creates a tasty dish.
Can't wait to see what this is like!
I Can't wait to see what this is like. I like some on the other dairy things like the milk and powdered cheese blend, so i think this may be a good thing to have in my storage.

Good product for the food storage.
If the price seems to good to be true...it is.
No. Just NO. When I saw the advertised price for this, plus that it was on sale, I thought it seemed to good to be true. And alas, it is, because this isn't actually butter powder. I'm not sure what it ought to be called because it isn't exactly margarine powder either. Artificial butter powder? Butter-flavor powder? Something besides butter powder in any case. Real butter powder sold for baking contains nothing but butter minus its water and a little added powdered milk or buttermilk to make it "powder." If a shelf life more than a few months is needed, it also contains some kind of antioxidant/s to prevent rancidity. A few manufacturers will also add silicon dioxide to keep it more powdery with less clumping, but that's the absolute end of the list of what ought to be in anyone's butter powder.
The ingredient list for this stuff?
The Ready Store #10 can
Butter Blend [Butter (Cream, Salt & Annatto Extract), Nonfat Dry Milk,
Buttermilk, Salt, Sour Cream (Cultured Cream, Nonfat Dry Milk), Disodium Phosphate, Natural & Artificial Flavors, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Color (Extractives of Annatto & Tumeric)], Maltodextrin, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Soybean Oil, Corn Syrup Solids, Salt, Xantham Gum, Sodium Caseinate, Mono & Diglycerides, Contains 2% Or Less of the Following: Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking)
$20.46($19.49 sale)/2 lb 12 oz (equal to 7-3/4 lb butter)
up to 10 year shelf life
Holy moly, that pretty much a list of all the things in processed food that you don't want to be eating. Yep, it's cheaper than anyone else's butter powder, but that would be because hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, and xanthum gum are a heck of a lot cheaper than butter. Buy the Ready Store's real butter in cans and/or actual butter powder from some other supplier.
For comparison, I paste below my comparative butter powder shopping list. The first product is the kind of butter powder sold to bakeries. No additives, but only a 10-month shelf life. The others are various versions of butter powder with a longer shelf life. (Although the listed shelf lives differ, the truth is the stuff all has about the same useful lifespan. You should preferably use it up in 3 years and probably no more than 5, and you shouldn't keep it around after opening more than about 6 months, 3 at the outside if not kept cool.) Food storage Vendor #1's product is my butter powder of choice because it is preserved with nothing more than mixed forms of vitamin E and the fat-soluble form of vitamin C with no other additives. Butter powder is one food storage item for which you really want to look at the whole ingredient list, not just the price per can and weight of the can contents. However, anything on the list below would be better than this imitation butter powder.
