An exciting new honey spread!
Can't wait to get this raw creamed honey for my family. We'll use it as a spread on toast, or frosting on cakes and breads. Raw honey has excellent medicinal qualities as well.
shelf life of honey
I am very excited about this honey! It was a good value as I got it as the deal of the day. However, I understood it to have an indefinate shelf life but the bucket says use by Aug. 15, 2017. Did I misunderstand?
From The Ready Store:
Marlene, we just spoke with Cox's and they said the shelf life is indefinite. According to the customer service rep they put the date on the pail to encourage use. We told them we would like to see it removed as it communicating bad information. They said they would consider it and get back to us.
Long story short, the honey has an indefinite shelf life. Hope this helps,
The Ready Store
A quality item
Absolutely delicious. A quality product for adding to other dishes or just dip out a spoonful and enjoy. Softens nicely at 70 degrees and sweetens everything it touches. I try to have a spoonful every day. I ordered several and am sure I will reorder before very long. Make a good day a great day and enjoy some of this delicious Honey.
I'm starting to get into more natural food pantry items. This looks like it would be really great on top of biscuits or scones. I also make dog biscuits and dogs are not supposed to eat sugar but the recipe book allows honey. I don't know if there is a difference from raw honey to regular honey, but it is good to have on hand for people anyway.
Best Tasting and Most Healthy Honey Available!
We received our buckets of the Raw Creamed Honey about a week ago. As always with the Ready Store, the tubs were securely packed and shipped arriving to us undamaged. We immediately stored the extra tubs in an area of the home that stays under 65 degrees F. We have been using our opened tub in food recipes, as well as on hot biscuits and toasts. I use it daily with my Green Tea. We place our opened tub of honey in the refrigerator. Whether stored in the refigerator (NOT freezer) or not, the consistency of the raw honey in the tub reminds me of frozen ice cream: you can either use a scope, or butter knife to "cut" the portion you want out. I carefully use a teaspoon by holding the spoon on the curved cup part--not the handle as it may bend the handle if dipped out too aggressive.
Hopefully, if (when!) a major critical incident occurs in the U.S., honey bees and American bee farmers will be able to reset their operations. Meanwhile, this Raw Creamed Honey will fill that void until they do. Blessings!
Great taste, great value
Great taste and value. Local honey can cost about $10 per small bottle, this is much cheaper and tastes the same. Great for ginger tea too when you catch a cold. Ginger tea and honey seriously cures colds faster than any medicine Ive tried.
We love this honey!
My husband and son are huge creamed honey fans. This is the best creamed honey we have ever bought. We purchased several tubs for long term storage. I refill a one pound container for convenience to store and bring to the table. It scoops out nicely with no mess. This will be the most rotated item in our food storage. I will continue to purchase this excellent product on a regular basis.
recently received my 2 tubs of honey.I got this on sale and cant believe the great value. In our area, you can pay well over $5 for a very small bottle of honey. I am sure my family and I will enjoy this.
Love It !
So good, I want to eat this stuff right out of the bucket. This is the first time that i have used creamed honey and it's wonderful. I purchased this brand, because it is "Raw". I can only find Raw honey at specialty stores in my area, and it is very Expensive. These Buckets are a good price - We use honey in our coffee & tea, in baking, and for making granola. I plan to buy more soon !
Had reservations about taste, tried it, and wow........superb, and of course good for you.
By the way, just have to add that the Readystore people are the very best, along with the service and policies.......just wouldn't shop anyplace else.
Love this honey!!!
Cox's honey is actually a local product for me so we purchase this all the time. I LOVE this honey! I have tried many other brands and this is by far our favorite creamed honey. We have stored these for years without any problems. Definitely a must-have food storage item.
Amazing Natural Healing Power
The one thing your food storage should have is Raw Honey. This is nature at its finest. Just look up all the wonderful ways that honey can heal and help prevent illness. The price on this 5lb. tub is unbeatable. Raw Honey is a must have!!
This is a great product that has real value. It's a wise choice for emergency preparation.
Great shelf life
This is a great way to have honey in your pantry. I really like this.
I eat this on everything!
I love creamed honey! It has a very unique texture that is easy to spread on toast or eat directly off of a spoon (which I do embarrassingly often). Honey has an indefinite shelf life, so I feel comfortable storing large quantities of it.
Perfect and delicious
This spread is amazing on freshly baked bread...it is very smooth and creamy. Plus, honey lasts forever, so I feel confident storing this in bulk.
Just opened our honey. We ran out of our local supply so we decided to try this one. It's a nice light tasting honey. I'm not a big fan of honey but enjoy this one. It seems to store well in the plastic but we'll put it in glass now that it's open. I will be buying some more soon.
Excellent addition to any survival kit.
I absolutely love this Honey!
It is so versatile and convenient to use!
I am ordering my second bucket of it today. I use it in tea, yogurt, recipes, you name it! It is just AWESOME and I highly recommend trying it!
Great - but not 100% accurate
Let me get a couple gripes out of the way first. #1 As mentioned in other reviews, there is a "use by" date on these. Disheartening as if I try to barter or sell my stock as I rotate it, this will likely reduce the value, #2 While this isn't "cooked/heated" it isn't considered by many to be really "raw." Raw honey usually means honey that has been expelled from the comb but is otherwise unprocessed. This honey has been filtered - I like that... but it's not raw per industry standard.
Now the good stuff. It's filtered!!! No bee bits, wings, wax globules, or larva pieces (wax moth). The taste is great and the texture smooth (not gritty like some creamed [crystalized] honey). Unless I can find a better deal elsewhere I'll be buying this once a year or so.
3x 5 stars
I have a few brands of raw honey stored. Of all, this is the easiest to use. I will come back to The Ready Store for more. Thanks for making this available.
This honey is mild, and has a great consistency. We love how it spreads as opposed to dripping. I would definitely purchase this product again.
I would recommend buying what you need when the weather is cooler, so there are no problems with leakage.
How does the packaging on this product hold up for long term storage? I'm a fan of raw honey and this is a great price, but I'm worried about leakage if it gets too warm & critters getting into it... I'm also concerned about the temps for proper storage - my storage area is inside, but limited & temps can vary greatly in the southwest if you try to conserve on heating & cooling costs...
From The Ready Store:
The temps should not matter in your case. Honey can be brought back to normal consistency by merely warming it back up. Many do it by putting it in a container then putting that container in boiling water.
I have used this in coffee, tea, on cereals and as sweetener in place of processed sugar. Naturally healthy...Thank You Ready Store!
I bought this a while back to use in baking, but found so many more uses for it. With the price of honey constantly rising in my area, I ordered 2 more today to stock up. Also less messy!
I have heard that honey has an indefinite shelf life. I will be stocking up on glass jars of raw honey. But, I will also buy the creamed honey buckets for my stock.
Wrong packaging for storage.
Price on this is great, and you don't have to worry about it crystallizing because it already has (and then been beaten smooth). However, anyone planning on putting this into long-term storage should transfer it to glass jars or cans first. The plastic bucket it comes in is not really varmint-proof and will also allow slow evaporation of the liquid in the honey over time.
it's honey, and tastes great
honey is supposed to last forever? I wouldn't know, we ate this, it was good.
