Pretty Good
194 of 378 people found this review helpfulI would classify them as biscuits with a very light lemon taste. The taste was pleasing and they quickly dissolve into a pleasant puree if taken as recommended with liquid. They are not over filling at first and do keep a satiation over a period of time even when the individuals are moderately exerting themselves . They are very crumbly which I would see as the biggest drawback. Think of a family of 4 in a land situation producing so many of the tiny crumbs as to attract rodents and insects. The packaging is good but will puncture and lose vacuum with rough handling. The packaging is waterproof and easy to open. I really like these and will be using these for my hiking trips as a part of my base nutrition.

very good
16 of 32 people found this review helpfulNot extremely tasty but they are not intended for gourmet dining. They are good enough for the emergency they are intended to handle.

Got these for my car bug out!
9 of 18 people found this review helpfulI got these for my car bug out. It gets very HOT IN DALLAS IN THE SUMMER and every thing I put in my car but out bag has to be changed out very often because it go's bad fast. I heard these will hold up under the heat so I feel much better knowing I have some food that will last awhile. and when I need it it won't be ruined thanks!!

Good
3 of 5 people found this review helpfulThese are good for keeping in your car, unlike energy bars they don't really melt. For the calorie count that you get it's about the same price as buying a bunch of energy bars, plus there's the long shelf life.

Lots of Calories, Little Package
This bar packs many calories into such a small package! I keep a few of these on hand in case things get really bad. Figure on two bars per adult per day.

They are worth adding to your stash
3 of 5 people found this review helpfulWe broke into a bar almost as soon as the order arrived. My wife and I both liked the flavor, a lightly lemon sweet cookie taste. I know that I'm more likely in an everyday situation to open one of these three portion bars than one of the nine portion bars currently stashed in our bail out bags. One thing though, pack a baggie or two with these bars. The portions are not individually wrapped. I feel that these are a great addition to your go/bail out bags for everyday use, not just in an emergency situation.

Best tasting energy snack I've ever had!
57 of 116 people found this review helpfulI'm a police officer and I carry Mainstay bars in my patrol bag for those days when I either don't have time to eat a regular meal or when I'm just not in the mood to eat a regular meal. I found out about them from a coworker who usually eats them as meal replacements. One day he let me try one and I was amazed at how delicious they are! To me, they taste like a sugar cookie with a very slight hint of lemon. They are a bit messy to eat but the great taste makes up for it. I could eat em every day if I had to!

Great Taste
190 of 372 people found this review helpfulSo I bought this as well as some MREs to see what I would like to put in my 72 hour kit. Once I opened it I did get alot of crumbs on my lap but after I broke off a section & bit into it I was amazed at the flavor. It was like a sugar cookie with calories!!

Tastes OK
185 of 379 people found this review helpfulI would only eat this if I had too. I know it is designed to give you the calories you need in case of an emergency, but doesn't taste very good. Has kind of a lemon taste.
