When it comes to staples like rice and stuff, I don't understand why people buy it in #10 cans, it's so cheap to buy a huge bag. You can cheaply and easily put them in these bag and they will be just as good.

I purchased 5lb bags of sugar, flour, box of salt, pepper, Baking soda, ect. Packed everything in these bags within 6 gal buckets with gamma lids. I put together 4 buckets to be able to share with unprepared people in an emergency. I know it'll will stay good for a long time thanks to the mylar bags and oxygen asorbers. Thanks for selling them together as a set.

This is the route I go when it comes to food storage. Yes you can buy #10 cans of rice, wheat, flour etc. but they are expensive and harder to store. With these bag/absorber combos, you can do it yourself and make them easier to store by laying them on their side. You can get a 30lb bag of rice for about $20 and 2-3 of these bags will store it all. 30lbs of rice in #10 cans would be a lot more money. I use these for fruits, spices etc too, because you can cut the bags to size as well.

With the price of rice I think you are better off getting the large container sold on the site. But it is good for other stuff to.

I love this kit for packaging locally-bought food for long-term storage. I bought 50lb of rice for $17 and then packaged it all away in mylar bags. The oxygen absorbers are very effective and sucked the mylar in very noticeably.

Benefits & Description

Top Quality 4.3 mil Mylar Bags | Oxygen Absorbers Included

Save money by doing it yourself
By purchasing bulk food staples you can create your own food storage at home and save in the process. Prepare for the future
Food storage staples are key for a well rounded food storage plan, this DIY kit will help you achieve long shelf life with these quality products. Don't Stress about Quality
At The Ready Store we focus on quality, what good is a low priced product if it doesn't do its job? We test and use all of our products and only provide quality preparedness supplies. This Do-It-Yourself Food Storage Bucket Kit contains 10 high quality 4.3 mil mylar bags that measure 20" by 30". These metalized bags are big enough for 5 and 6 gallon buckets. Included with this 10 pack are 20 oxygen absorbers to create the perfect food storage environment for your foods.

The twenty included oxygen absorbers are 2000cc in size. When food is filled to the top of the bucket we recommend using 1 oxygen absorber. Remove as much air in the bag before sealing edge. No need to vacuum the remaining air out, the absorber will take care of that over the next 48 hours.

NOTE:Oxygen absorbers must be used no longer than 2 hours after opening 02 absorber bag. We recommend filling the 10 mylar bags with food and place them in their respective buckets before opening the 02 absorber bag. When ready to seal the 10 mylar bags with a heating element (like a household iron) cut open the absorbers package and place the 02 absorbers into the mylar bags and seal the 10 bags immediately.

We recommend the use of food grade plastic buckets for protection of the mylar bag. While the mylar bag keeps light, moisture, and air out it can be punctured. When placed in a bucket the mylar bag has protection from abuse.

"Include foods that are . . . high in calories and nutrition. Foods that require no refrigeration, water, special preparation, or cooking are best [in an emergency]." - Food and Water in an Emergency | FEMA and The Red Cross

At The Ready Store, we always focus on the QUALITY of our products first because we want you to get the best value for your hard-earned money.
