Gave to my Daughter for her bug out bags
6 of 11 people found this review helpfulI bought these for my daughters bug out bags she has not alot of extra money nor room in her little apt. I put together bug out bags for her and her kiddios and added these they are not heavy so the kids should be able to carry thier own bags and have still room for some bottled water and clothes, Please remember your family they may need a bug out bag and these are a good thing to add!!!

4 of 9 people found this review helpfulI ordered 3 and one did not have its vaccum pack seal. Called company and they sent a replacement rt away. Taste ok. I would not want to eat it more than a few days. Overall its a great for a high calorie product when you need it and thats what its for.

good 3 day bar
2 of 5 people found this review helpfulThese are good for emergancies and are usually cheaper than the mainstay bars. They are like a dense, heavy brick of food, but it's better than nothing!

Great little product
I was amazed at how small this was. This will fit nicely into my bug out bag.

Glad to Have These on Hand
I received these in my 72 hour kits. It's a comfort to know I can sustain myself in an emergency away from home if I have to.

Perfect for your car
These apparently are one of the best things to keep you alive. We went to a survival specialist meeting and she raved about them. Lots of calories and energy. These are perfect to keep in your car for emergencies. They can withstand hot/cold temps and keep for I believe like 5 years.

Good Value, Good Taste, Little Space
I bought this product on November 6th, and recived my package shortly there after. Upon inspection, one of the seals on the packages was opened and I feared calling customer service because I don't like to hassle about returns, but to my surprise they promptly apologized and placed another order to be sent out today. The bars do not taste half bad and for the price you'll be kicking yourself for not getting them for yourself or family when you have an emergency where you need them! Better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best, than be unprepared without thinking the worst will never happen to you!

Still buying
This is my 3rd review on this item. I have to keep buying them due to the kids eating them. At first seem dry but has a great taste.

Emergency Calories
We bought these for our cars and our adult 72 kits. I wouldn't recommend them for younger children because of taste and texture, but for adults they're perfect, especially in an emergency. They are very compact but a little on the heavy side. They'll add a little weight to those 72 hour kits.

Packing a punch
27 of 51 people found this review helpfulFor the price, the dense nutrition and calories this bar has is great. As long as you like coconut, you are good to go. They are crumbly, but better that then hard and crunchy. I like the 200 calorie portions, although I dont think each is airtight..only the outer, hence the 3600.
I will still keep one in a zipper lock at work for the days I dont want a full lunch. I could eat these with no problem during an emergency. Very tasty and Packing a punch of flavor, quality and nutrition in a small size!3/2/12

Does the job
1 of 1 people found this review helpfulThese don't taste quite as good as the mainstay bars, but they are ok. The mainstay bars are more expensive though so make your pick. storage temps are great because we are running out of climate controlled space without having boxes in our living room or being obvious to friends that we have a stock pile.

A Great Product
This is a great product and I love that each bar is broken into "meal" proportions, but be aware that multiple orders of these bars, made separately, did not stay vacuum sealed. If this happens you can reseal them yourself in vacuum packaging.

I liked the coconut flavor
240 of 456 people found this review helpfulI bought some of these for my survival kit so I had to see what I would be eating when the world came to an end and actually on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say about a 7. I mean, they are crumbly and a little dry, but they didn't make me thirsty. The best comparison I can make is to a shortbread cookie kind of thing with a little bit of sweetness. I love how many calories I can get in a small bar.

Mainstay and Datrexs--Both good for what intended for.
53 of 106 people found this review helpful"Review of both Datrex and mainstay" I like both as emergency rations for short 1-3 day duration. After that without supplement they become abit tedious. Long term they are good at supplemetning your other supplies, and or giving you flexibility to have rations if you have to move or take short trips. Mainstay by far tastes better and is packed with vitamins. its texture is more of a dense shortbread lemon cookie. The 400 calorie sections are a bit awkward to break off but can be done. Package says once opened can be used for several days. Would be nice if package could be ziplocked after opening to protect from moisture or dirt. Datrex is in more conveniant 200 calorier individually wrapped bars. Not as much nutrition so after a few days need to supplement. Each individual bar is a bit light and crumbly, particularly when you open the individually wrapped 200 calorie sections. Flavor is a bit plane like eating flaky shortcake with a bit of a cinnamon (in my mind) taste. Once package is open again individual bars are protected with plastic wrap but main package could be better if it could be ziplocked after opening. Bottom line is I like both for what they are intended for-Short duration emergency ration. I keep one 2400 pack of each in each of my vehicles, and more at home in bug out bag. alternating a 400 calorie mainstay with a 200 calorie Datrex makes both abit more edible over a few days--Then dive into the freeze dried neapolitan ice cream-heaven!!
