The secret is the easy working threaded double gasket lid that literally spins right off off. The gamma lid's gasket is SBR rubber, so it keeps your product fresh and dry. The container also features smooth interior walls which are easy to clean and are totally dishwasher safe. It meets FDA requirements for storing food, and it is made of high-impact polyethylene, so it won't shatter or break.

"This food storage bin is very good in terms of size but may be difficult to move when full, also it does not seal 100% air tight so rotate what you store, over all this is a good product made from thick plastic and will last many years to come and if you want a better seal on the gamma lid add plummers tape, that's what I did, over all I am 98% pleased with this product you really cant beat the price, believe me I do shop around and always find myself coming back to the ready store everytime."

"We bought a smaller version of this about 10 years ago for our dog food. Loved it enough to buy a few more for essentials like rice, beans, salt and sugar. When we heard the big size was on sale, we up and bought several more for storage of wheat. Being large, they are heavy when filled, but they are air tight which is critical for long-term food storage."

"I bought both the 16 gallon stacking one and this one and I like the stacking one better. They store better. But I do use this one for my wheat since I am grinding wheat all the time and so it has been good for that."
