    Having their own whistles help the children to feel "more" prepared. The metal is better than the plastic for them because it won't get broken. The bright red cord makes it easy for them to find among their stuff.

    The Ready Store sells 3-in-1 whistles for just a little more than these "classic" whistles. Whistles are great for emergencies to signal for help, but in an emergency "utility" counts and if one whistle also serves other purposes, guess which one I am going to standardize for my group? Other than this gripe, this is a good, inexpensive whistle if you just want the bare minimum.

    This site also sells the 7 in 1 whistles, that do so much more for only a little bit more. It's totally worth it to get the multifunction ones! Unless this is for a small child who has no use for the extras.
