Happy to have it
I went camping with some friends and they had one of these potty lids that they got at the ready store. It totally saved me. I know it seems silly but it was sturdy and comfortable and it made a huge difference on the trip. I came home and bought one for myself. Never thought I would be so excited about a potty lid!
This is a rarely thought of BUT a highly Valuable item for your discreet needs. Great accessory for the 5 gallon bucket. 5 stars!
Light weight, takes up very little room and must have for camping.
This is a plus to have if the emergency arises..
This is a great potty lid for converting any 5 gal bucket into your potty for an emergency. I store all toilet paper, potty bags and potty chemicals inside the bucket for a grab n go scenario. The only problem I have found with the potty seat is it will not allow the handle on the bucket to lift up so you can carry it, the front and back of the potty seat are to long for the handle to get around. If they could fix this problem, it would make it easier to lift and carry to empty when needed.
A MUST FOR EVERYONE
I purchased this for many common reasons, as other reviews state. One area of concern for me is always my small children, I want them to always feel comfortable regardless of any situation. This is why I appreciate all reviews that The Ready Store has available for us all to read, always makes a difference with my purchases.
Don't get caught without one!
This seems like a funny item to buy, but when you think about it, everyone uses one! It can definitely make things seems more normal during a bad situation, who wants to go in the bushes.
Don't Be Without It!
I purchased a couple of these and gave them w/buckets and all the needed supplies to family members I worry about. They think I'm crazy but that's OK. I've had to go the rough way before and don't intend to do it again! These are great with a 5 gallon bucket pre-packed with supplies you can easily throw it in the car if you have to evacuate. Keep some kitty litter in your trunk too it helps in more ways than one.
Great for camping
These are great for camping and for any emergency. When the power goes out for long periods, such as Hurricane Sandy, water treatment plants stop also because they run on electricity. You need something to go in, and these seats make it not so bad. I would get the bags and chemicals too.
another essential item
Here is another essential item to keep in your emergency storage. We purchase the lid then dedicated a 5-gal bucket in which we put the other necessaries such as toilet paper, waste disposal bags, hand sanitizer, and the odor control packages. We made two for our supplies and with the toilet lid attacked on the top like a lid the two buckets stacked nicely. Just bear in mind that the handle to the bucket doesn't come over the top of the toilet lid - though that isn't a huge problem as the bucket doesn't end up being that weighty.
Repurpose a bucket
Good to have in your emergency gear for those (children, for example) who can't just squat over a bucket. The little comforts matter.
you won't think you want it until you need it. I use it for camping and wouldn't want to give it up.
Valuable item to have
Appears to be satisfactory for its intended purpose. Definately an item of convience.
works, but doesn't attach firmly to bucket, or seal when lid closed
this does what it claims, but it would be nice if it snapped on more firmly to the bucket, or sealed somewhat when closed - that would be much more useable if it was needed indoors.
I purchased this product some time ago and just got around to trying to set up my "emergency" potty. I have tried 3 different buckets, and for the life of me, I cannot get the seat to snap onto the rim of any bucket. Since it has a groove for the lip of the bucket, rather than just sitting on the bucket, rim to rim, it actually makes the seat unstable on the bucket. Truly not something you want to be unstable. If I did get it to snap onto the bucket, I don't think it would be easily removed and I sure don't want to be fighting to get a seat off a bucket with that kind of contents. You also cannot get the handle past the seat, so getting the lid off is a must to transport the bucket.
