Over the years I've used tube tents on a number of occasions. As an emergency shelter in a grab and go they are a great choice. Hung on tightly strung shock cord, they can be held in shape by your mats or bags. Roll up one end and leave a hole at the top, roll up the other end and leave a hole at the bottom. You'll get adequate air flow and stay dry in a down pour. Just add some shock cord and a dozen clothes pins to your grab bag to make set up and adjustments easy.

This product is for temporary shelter to get you out of the elements. For the price I think it's perfect. I am not asking to live here but to survive momentarily. Nice and compact for temporary shelter.

These are great for a bug out bag. A hikers tent that is about 2lbs can cost up to $100. This is a light tent that doesn't take up a lot of space, and is very budget friendly!

I pray I never have to use this for shelter (but will sure be glad I have it if it comes to that! My thought is, if ever stuck in a blizzard or such, this would be a good way to signal for help even hanging it out a car window to get attention.

We bought 2 of these for our 72 hour kits. Was impressed that they are packaged compact (saving us room in our 72 hour kits), and they come with their own rope. Perfect emergency shelter, especially at this price!

I was surprised at how small of a package this tent came in. I hope I never have to use it, but I am sure I will be glad I have it if I do. I like the suggestions others have posted here to include some fasteners to hold the tent in place on the rope you use it on.

This is going right into my 7 year olds BOB. It is easy enough for her to set up and light weight. A must if you have younger children, who you are away from during the day. This will give you a piece of mind in case your sitter isn't prepared.

If you are choosing to "BUG OUT" when time comes this is a great addition to your bag. Must be properly weighted down but will work for a basic shelter and keep you dry in a pinch.

There are some nice tents you can buy at Target for pretty cheap to very expensive, that can be packed in a tight space in a decent amount of time, so although this doesn't take the cake for comfort or usability, it does take the cake for cheap, get the hell out of dodge fast, and don't have room for a tent. The orange color can be good or bad. One of our bags is always in a car, and as another person reviewed, it is great at signaling for help.

My overall opinion of this product is that it has been excessively cost-reduced by manufacturing the tube tent using drastically thin and inadequately flimsy plastic material (3 mils thickness). In the survival situation involving high winds, multiple days of exposure, and rugged terrain, this device would not afford the survivor much protection at all.

Yes, it's light and inexpensive. Don't expect it to last through the night though. These tear easily and in anything but the lightest winds will act like a kite. I would recommend saving up and getting a lightweight bivy bag instead.
