Net Zero New Jobs, What To Do…
The news on the job front on Friday was really bleak. Net zero jobs…ugh. It’s a sad state of affairs in our economy right now. We’ve been hovering around 9% unemployment for quite some time now. The job market is really tough out there. That 9.1% doesn’t take into account those who are under employed, and those that have simply stopped looking for work.
There are a lot of companies that are on the verge of more layoffs. Is your job threatened right now? Losing your job can be very traumatic. How will you feed your family? How will you pay the bills? How long could you go until you land that next job? Practical Preparedness isn’t about the end of the world. It’s about real day to day disasters that happen all the time.
Jobs are always in flux. Some people are fortunate to stay at the same job for a long period of time. Others are fortunate to own their own business. But many unfortunately, are not in those situations. Regardless of where you find yourself, there is hope. (real hope) You can’t control everything, but you certain can control the important things. Start now to focus your attention on putting together a plan that will put you in the drivers seat regardless of the health of the economy.
Self reliance can give you a great deal of peace of mind. Getting prepared is very much like planting a garden. You reap what you sow. So start today by sowing seeds that you can harvest during the toughest of times. Make the security and safety of your family your job. Create a plan that allows you to be ready for a job loss, or any other kind of disaster.
You don’t need to spend your time in fear. You have the power to take control of your families future. You don’t need to be wealthy to get prepared. If you are already prepared, spend your time helping others get prepared so that you can create a community of preparedness around you. The more prepared your community is, the more self reliant you can be. Jobs will come and go. If we plan correctly, we can be ready for just about everything.

September 5th, 2011 at 12:14 amMy wife is a stylist and though she doesn’t face losing her job like some, she does have weeks when her business is off due to the economy. During those off weeks it is comforting to know we have plenty of food to fall back on. Before we starting accomplishing a back up food storage we would really worry about what we were going to do for food that week.
September 5th, 2011 at 12:29 amGood article! I’m sending this one out to my neighbors. Thanks!
September 5th, 2011 at 4:49 amThis is a good article, and because of the audience, it must necessarily be a little vague and “soft around the edges”. The truth is that our once great nation is headed for a fall of biblical proportions. The easy and prosperous days of the cheap oil age are now behind us and will never return. The best thing to do is scale back our lifestyles. That is: get out of debt, get our spiritual lives in order, and prepare for the coming days of hardship. One great way to do this is to let the good folks at the Ready Store assist you. I have purchased most of my longterm food storage from them and overall I would say that they have the best deals. You can’t beat their prices, service and inexpensive shipping costs. In addition, their food products are made in America, so you help the nation and the nation’s farmers by helping yourself. Finally, the folks at this site also care about their customers’ spiritual welfare and practice what they preach.
September 5th, 2011 at 6:29 amI just cant believe the economy has stunk for so many years now, most recessions come in go in a year or two at most but this is just going on and on. Will it ever get better or is this just the new America?
September 5th, 2011 at 9:45 amThey are so right, it is the time to stock up on all needs for your family. We live in a time when we have leaders who don’t lead and I wonder where they are taking us, no place good I’m afraid. We love our country and God but others don’t and pushing their views on us seems to be the goal.
September 5th, 2011 at 12:34 pmStock up on food, get right with God and try to be ready for the bad times I see coming. No good will come out of the White House as long as we have the present leaders. Vote, Vote, Vote and let your voice be heard, we can change things for the good if we unite and work together.
God bless us and God bless America.
Voting changes NOTHING! BOTH parties pander to what works best for the corporations & industries that line their wallets rather than what’s best for the citizens. The focus on “values & idealism” is an emotional distraction to hide the fact that politicians are feeding us & our money to the Fed, Wall St. etc etc. while slowly eviscerating “The American Dream”.

September 5th, 2011 at 4:33 pmI agree with everyone above, but especially Bob. This IS going in the “Biblical proportions” direction, and I truly believe the worst is yet to come. The other thing I agree with most is about being spiritually prepared. Also be i the best physical shape you can be. If any of you have a channel called “Veria” (Dish network has it and can also be watched online) look for a show called “Hot On The Trail”. They show you what common weeds growing all over the US are edible and how to prepare them. Learn all you an NOW before you are under stress and panicky. It may save your life !!
