Best electric mill out there210 of 441 people found this review helpful
I have used my wondermill for years and it is still running strong. Super fast and quiet I use this mill to mill my flour for bread and other cooking. I considered getting the hand crank mill but we have a generator and I the wondermill is so fast it can crank out many cups of flour in just a few minutes of use. I have really loved it and will get another one when my finally dies. If you have wheat you should definitely have a mill to grind flour and you can't go wrong with this one.
Makes your job easy
This is so easy to use. It is the perfect compliment to a hand mill for emergency situations.
Not your Grandmother's grain mill
I remember, as a kid, helping to grind wheat into flour.
I remember the noise; the cloth flour bag that hung from below the grinder with an elastic band, that always seemed to generate a cloud of flour dust whenever you checked to see if it was full. I remember the periodic refilling of the grain canister at the top. But most of all, I remember the time it took. It went on for hours, and when all was said and done, you had about 10 to 12 cups of whole wheat flour to show for it.
Yeah, this one is nothing like that one.
I received it in the mail last weekend. I read through all of the instructions to make sure I set it up just right. I decided to run it through the "cleaning" cycle right away to get it into usable status, because you never know when you might need something like that.
I ran 2 cups of wheat through it - expecting it to take several minutes.
It didn't! It was done in less than 30 seconds.
I tossed the flour it produced in the trash as directed, but then I decided to find out just how fast this thing was.
I put 8 cups of wheat in the hopper and fired it up as I started the timer.
2 minutes and 40 seconds later I had approximately 12 cups of some of the finest whole wheat flour I had ever seen.
Yes, it's still noisy, but anyone can put up with a bit of noise for less than 3 minutes. On top of that, there was almost no flour dust to contend with.
