Great Barrels31 of 60 people found this review helpful
I got these from The Ready Store based not only on price, but also on shipping charges. The Ready Store has their policy of combining shipping and they have a low shipping charge that far outshines any of their competitors. Identical items from other places would have run $50-70 more on shipping alone! Great job, The Ready Store!

Other online stores have a similar product, but the shipping charges are killer. The Ready Store had a simple, combined and LOW shipping charge that puts them head and shoulders above other stores. Great job, The Ready Store! Keep it up!
30 gallon water barrel31 of 62 people found this review helpful
I found the price was great when you look at shipping from other places. Was easy to move and put in the small space that I had. Was lite but very strong. I received in in short time. I like it so much I got another one. I will tell other people how great it is to work with. The ready staff is so wonderful to deal with.

This is a quality item, that is well worth the value. This presents a highly effective way of storing your water, while only occupying a small space.
WalMart actually costs MORE!29 of 53 people found this review helpful
In trying to find the best "deal," I checked out the 55-gal container at WalMart that was supposed to cost "around $40" and what I found was a 55-gal rain barrel that looks very similar. However, it costs $119.99 and isn't even BPA free. I'm just starting out in emergency preparedness and haven't actually purchashed anything yet, but I'm pretty sure the ReadyStore will be getting my money!
Get a hose5 of 8 people found this review helpful
Your going to need a garden hose or something to fill this up because you need to fill it wherever you are going to store it. I'd rather have 6 little 5 gallon containers that I can move around and fill with clean water, not from the hose.

With free shipping of over 100 dollars this is a great deal. Put preserver in it and its good for 5 years. A must have in any emergency. You can only go 3 days without water.
Great Indoor Size5 of 8 people found this review helpful
I purchased 4 of these. Filled them up, put them in corners with round table cloths covering them and visitors just think it's a little table. As othe reveiwers said, shipping at other places is OUTRAGEOUS! Thank you Ready Store
great addition1 of 3 people found this review helpful
This is the perfect addition to our water storage because the 250 gallon tanks can only go so many places, but these can fit into the areas that it can't. I also bought the 12x5 gallon containers for portability purposes. Long term, tight fit, and portability give us pretty good water storage.
At last! A food grade water barrel!1 of 3 people found this review helpful
I've been looking for such a product that was not too costly. Thank you for offering it!
I purchased two of these and for me, being single, these are the perfect size. Easy to move and store.
The price is unbeatable
Great price on these, especially if considering they offer free shipping on orders over $100. It makes sense anyways to get a few of these. Because they are dark in color, they actual keep water longer by not allowing bacteria/algae to grow as fast. You will need a syphon with these barrels though to get the water back out.
Worth the price
You can find these cheaper used, but it's worth the extra capital to know that they're clean and haven't held hazardous substances. Good size, too -- not overwhelmingly large.
I just converted one of these into a rain barrel - it was very easy. Ready Store, have you done a blog post on that topic? Might be useful!
From the Ready Store:
Kathryn, we have not yet posted a blog on rain barrels, but thank you for the feedback. We will look into it!
Good price on sale
bought two of these for back up if/when well pump goes out. small enough to handle but big enough to provide plenty of H2o in emergency!
Excellent for long term water storage, which is critical for survival, you could always add alkaline water tablets for safe measure as well.
Get a siphon
Just got several of these for storing water in my basement. My best advice: get a bung wrench and a siphon so you can get your water out EASILY! These are very heavy when full. You might want to consider buying barrel covers if you're storing these outside.
What a bargin for a quality product!
Like the others who did comparison shopping before ordering this product, I found your 30 gallon barrel to not only be the best priced but of the best material - BPA free and safe for my family. It will fit nicely in my garage for emergency storage.
Good size for my place236 of 457 people found this review helpful
I had one of those beastly 55 gallon drums in the past and I considered getting another one at a local store, but I found this one and it has worked great. I have had it in my garage for about 6 months and it doesn't take up quite as much space as the other. Plus I think 30 gallons of water is pretty good for my husband and I for at least a few weeks.
Heavy when filled224 of 450 people found this review helpful
This is a great water storage unit. Just be sure it is where you want it before you fill it.
30-Gallon Water Barrel2 of 4 people found this review helpful
Perfect size for storage, as the 55 seems a bit too large to deal with. Washed it out with dishsoap first, it removed the chemical smell. A bit pricey when you add the pump with it.
great water storage
These are great for storing larger quantities of water. Mine is used as a rain barrel with a collector from the roof. I drilled a 3/4 in hole and threaded in a garden hose bib and it works great - no leaks and extra water for the garden.
Placement Important159 of 306 people found this review helpful
Good size for house of 2 adults, 1 tiny dog and 1 med size dog. You need at least two. Make sure you place them where you are going to store them. Water weighs approximately 8lbs per gallon. 30gal X 8lbs = 240lbs. They are not stackable and not intended to be. The filling openings are of two sizes threads. Course and fine national barrel threads. Place a piece of ½” plywood under them to keep them off the foundation material. Suggest spraying the gasket before sealing with “LEM” food grade silicone spray to ensure a good seal without gasket crinkles. Use a bung tool to tighten. Hand tight will not do it. Would be nice if there was model designed to be stored on its side and you could add a spigot for storage and usage purposes. Looked for a while but found a good hand pump with barrel threads that fits. Tested and worked good. A siphon is too slow.
Small, convenient, but seriously expensive compared to...203 of 392 people found this review helpful
Walmart sells a 55 gallon (almost double capacity) for only $40 or so. That's double the volume, 2/3 the price. Same blue plastic, same two screw in white plastic caps. Only bigger and cheaper. At the self reliance expo, prices for all sizes were about $1 per gallon, only with better valves/plumbed systems. Keep looking!
